Hello everyone,
I sewed this about 5 months ago and it only just turned warm enough for my 2 year old girl to wear it. Smiley

Hello!
First of all, thank you everyone for your comments! Appreciate it!

I made another bag, same design but added a buttoned closure as well as an inner zippered pocket.

I'm still jittery about posting a tutorial - I would love to share how I made this bag with everyone! But just too afraid to get into trouble.  Embarrassed

7  My First Dress!!!! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by inoriz on: November 24, 2007 12:41:43 AM
This is my first time sewing a dress for my daughter.

Pardon my daughter's sleepy look - she was really sleepy and cranky then.

Close up on the button:

It's a very simple dress but it took me alot of courage and planning to make as I was afraid of wasting cloth and afraid of failing. Thank God it came out not-too-bad.
This is also the first time I'm using a sewing machine in donkey years. (The last time was 3 or 4 years ago when I DID NOT complete the project and also when I was 13 when I had to finish the assignments for Home Economics class).

Comments and criticism most welcome! Cheesy

I like your cardigan. Smiley  And that baby is soooo cute.  Her expression is priceless.  I could kiss her.

She says

"Oh?"

And then she smiles

"Thank you!"

9  My first ever baby cardigan in Knitting: Completed Projects by inoriz on: November 22, 2007 11:12:16 PM
Hello...
This is my very first attempt at knitting something that is not a hat or bootie or blanket. It's also my first attempt with using so many colors.
 Grin
I made many mistakes. So many that I wanna slap myself.

Firstly, the changing of colors are so messy. The garment puckered on 1 side because I carried the yarn up the side too tightly.

Secondly, I was too lazy to do a gauge swatch. So it turned out WAY TOO SMALL for my baby. A premie baby could wear this I suppose.

Thirdly, the patterned called for an increase of the sleeves once every 4 rows. I did it once every 3 rows because I thought you had to include the 1st row in the increase. -___-

Everything is in a mess (you won't be able to tell from the picture but there are holes where I don't want them to be and the WS of the garment has ends sticking out because I didn't weave them in properly.
I also got bored with the garter stitch so I will never attempt another project that calls for only garter stitching. Not motivated enough!

And my daughter wearing it BEFORE I sewed on the buttons.

I will do better next time.  Cheesy

I like the girlie headband. My cousin just had a baby girl and the headband would be just adorable on her. What is the length of the headband you made and how did you make it adjustable?

The headband is about 15inches long and I made it adjustable by sewing two buttons on the WS.

The buttons can fit into the 'holes' in the lace pattern. Smiley
