1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Four Seasons of Gnomes on: December 01, 2009 03:23:02 PM
There are Gnomes in my Christmas Tree! Over the weekend, I stitched up these Four Seasons Gnomes, each embroidered with a tree scene of a season Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. They warm my heart with holiday spirit!

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Sweet Charlotte Baby Quilt on: August 12, 2009 09:22:37 AM
This baby quilt I finished for my friend's first baby girl who was born in February this year. I sent it to her in Boston a while back but haven't posted about it here yet. It's soft and girly and sewn with love <3 Its made from a charm squares pack of Urban Chiks Sweet line and sashed with some yummy peach solid fabric. And the blue wavy binding turned this quilt from something I liked to something I LOVED!! And I embroidered some birds and her name on the quilt too for a special personal touch. I hope to visit my friend in Boston someday so I can see her little angel enjoy this quilt! Smiley

(Domokun I made for my bf is modeling the quilt~<3)

Here is the best picture I have of the full quilt before I sent it to little miss Charlotte, the adorable newborn recipient~

I love quilt because of the beautiful soft colors and the simplicity of the design with a couple of embroidered embellishments. The simple design let me focus on things like the free motion quilting of roses and leaves and add embroidered birds to add some whimsy and charm. When I quilt, I dont want any wrinkles in the quilt top which could come from my embroidery hoop so thats why I quilted this first then I embroidered the details afterwards since the quilt is already pretty and crinkly from the quilting. I think it worked out nicely because the birds fit in perfectly wtih the flow of the quilting without any distortion of the quilt top Smiley It's about 42" x 42". I talked a bit more about how special the quilt is here.

Some more detail shots~

Thanks for looking~! <3
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Beauty, family, and home on: October 14, 2008 02:46:35 PM
(Thanks kittykill for letting me sneak in this last minute entry!)

Fall is beautiful... the colors of leaves turning from calming greens to rich golds...
Fall is family... spending time with those you love and cherishing moments with little ones before they grow up...
Fall is home... a safe place of comfort where your heart is...

I stitched this for the Tea Towel Tour 4 for cupcakeguru's fall themed towel ~ from my heart to your home~

The design is adapted from this vintage transfer found at Hoop Love.

a closeup on my favorite wing~

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / patchy bag on: April 10, 2008 12:22:25 PM
I love bags and this is my first attempt at making one from scratch without a pattern. I made this for my friend's birthday last month and she loved it! She's the bunny and I'm the mushroom, embroidered onto sakura shaped patches, and I added the octopus patch cuz I was in the octopi mood after the octopus/squid swap Smiley The patches are embroidered on white felt then appliqued onto the green cotton fabric.  The lining is this cute octopus/sea life flannel print that's super soft and cute, and it has 3 pockets on the inside, but I forgot to get a shot of it. This bag turned out pretty cute and I can't wait to finish the bags I started.
