You are so clever to come up with this technique; the result is awesome. I especially love that you used powder to imitate chalk dust. Well done!

Ha...my inspiration was based on the look I got after applying baby powder to my armpits and then putting on a black tank.  I love happy accidents! Cheesy

What an awesome technique! I definitely want to try this. I love the chalkboard look. Soooo clever!

Yes, give it a try!  HINT: don't allow  the baby powder to make you sneeze  Cool

The "chalk" looks so real!  Love that 1)you used an old tray ,2)you figured out an alternative to the blackboard, 3)the lettering looks vintage! 4) you made a nice memory piece for the celebration of 10 years!!

Great fun!

Thanks for all your compliments.
I'm so glad this contest came up...it gave me a reason to buy some white pens! Wink

Novice?  No way!

I'm going to steal the idea of using a crayon for coloring in faces - - especially since I rarely wash or iron a piece (only doing so for needle sticks-ha!)

Awww...so sweet...perfect expression!

I have a wooden darning tool/gizmo from the '20's with a very similar face.  I got it as a gift when I was in Jr Hi (40+ yrs ago) and it has always been special to me.
