11  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Long Red Coat on: December 21, 2007 12:08:09 PM
I know this is a long shot, but has anyone seen the Christmas movie on Lifetime called A Town Without Christmas?

In that movie, the character M J Jenson is given a beautiful red coat...I want that coat!!!  I can't find any pictures of it online, but I have found one similar.

Anyone know of a pattern that might work for this style?  Keep in mind I am only 5'2" and plus size Sad

But....I love this coat!!!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Mohawk on: December 21, 2007 07:22:26 AM
I was inspired by Pretty Pistol at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=203338.0 and, well, I gave it a try...and I love the results... Grin

This was not an easy project for me, though...I whip-stitched around the edges of the fur, but it didn't want to stay put, so the mohawk is a little crooked...I'll saftey pin the fur down on the next one...

What do you think???
13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Last night's creation... on: December 21, 2007 06:54:35 AM
Well, after 4 hours at the sewing machine, I think the final product will make a nice Christmas gift for my MIL.  Hope she likes it.

I did the quilting before I put the bag together...this was my first time for quilting...other than a hotpad  Wink  And I didn't use any interfacing, since I added the batting for the quilting...I think next time, I'll do interfacing and then the quilting, to make the bag look a little bit more structured...

Any quesstions, comments, and compliments are welcome  Grin

Merry Christmas!
14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Button Wreath Ornaments on: December 06, 2007 07:09:03 AM
Well, I saw sweets4ever's button wreath ornament two days ago and decided that the class of little girls that I teach on Wednesday nights needed to make these...so, we did.  Here's a picture of their hard work...I think they turned out really great!!

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first tote bag... on: November 09, 2007 06:30:00 AM
I made this tote bag for one of my nephews. (He's 2)  It is for his coloring books.  I am going to make a matching crayon roll.

This is only my second project, so forgive my mistakes Smiley

17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First Project/First Post: Crayon Roll on: November 06, 2007 08:09:51 AM
Well, I've been lurking here for about 2 weeks now, and just did my first project! I found the idea somewhere on the internet...here's where I found my tut...

I made this one last night; it took me all evening to make.  I haven't used a sewing machine in about 15 years.  Hopefully, practice will make perfect better. Grin I plan on making a few more of these crayon rolls as part of Christmas Gifts, along with bags the size of coloring books.

Thanks for looking!
