1  Re: Wisp from Knitty in Knitalongs by april-katherine on: November 22, 2007 05:55:36 AM
Thank you! Good to hear that simply using a larger needle worked fine for you. Then I think I'll do it that way, too! Smiley

I started my Wisp now, or actually I started two. I thought I'd try it first with a slightly thicker yarn to make myself familiar with the pattern. But then I was actually already on my fifth repeat when I switched over to the "actual" yarn... the pattern is really nice to knit! So I think I will finish the other one, too, for myself. Smiley But now I'm knitting the one for my mother first. Using the lace yarn is less awkward than I thought before, and I like the way it's coming out:

The colours are actually more intense in real life! Smiley

2  Re: Octopus Revolution! in Crochetalongs by april-katherine on: November 13, 2007 05:51:42 AM
Hi everybody!
I have very recently joined Craftster and this is my first real post  Smiley
I love this pattern, all the octopi are so cute!  Cheesy I made two of them, just finished the second one. Here they are - I hope the picture linking thing works:

They are going to be Christmas presents. I have two pairs of aunts/uncles who love Greece, and I think they will give them a friendly home.  Smiley
By the way, I made the legs/tentacles a little longer by adding three more rows of sc12, and I did make 8 of them. There wasn't really enough space, so I sewed the last one onto the side... that makes it look as if they wanted to shake hands, I think  Wink
Here you can see the many legs:

How do you like them? And I'm not sure about the mouth. I think I like the one without mouth better... what do you think? Any advice will be appreciated Smiley
