141  Splattered skull singlet in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by claraohara on: December 30, 2007 12:54:22 AM
Hey all!
I was doing some stencilling for my swap partner today and decided to do some for me while the mess was out.
I bought this singlet at a bargain shop for $3(AUD)-nice and cheap! Actually I caved and bought 4....Cheesy

The pic really doesn't do it any justice. The splatter is much darker and evenly spread. My friend was nice enough to give me his flu so I couldn't be bothered fiddling with the photo more than I already have.
Thanks for looking!
Cheesy

142  Re: Im so in LOVE in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by claraohara on: December 21, 2007 09:32:06 PM
Yay! I managed to go fabric shopping and finished the wallet today.....I kinda got a bit distracted half way through and couldn't focus so I strayed from the tute and just kinda guessed the rest......But I think it turned out the same anyway. Cheesy
Here it is:

The inside (Should have made my pockets a bit deeper to cover the snap-fabric was too thick to punch through from the inside.)

Outside view (Strap is a bit wonky-I was getting a headache by this stage  Sad )

Close up of the pretty fabric and cute little bird.

The gorgeous fabric I found (Was a bit expensive at AUD$27/m!!)

143  Re: Sydney Thrift Stores in AUSTRALIA by claraohara on: December 19, 2007 09:25:46 PM
I went to the op shops I mentioned before and got a great haul!
I got some navy corduroy, deep red corduroy, red and white stretch, black suede, port wine red leather, a pretty vintage looking super soft stretch and 5 assorted zippers.
All of that cost me $3!!!!!!
Sooooo cheap!!!

144  Skull of buttons cushion. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by claraohara on: December 18, 2007 04:44:04 PM
Hi all,
Well I made this cushion (I have a thing for cushions!) as a xmas present for my old flatmate.
The colour in the pic isn't right though-it is a beautiful deep royal red velvet. Best op shop find!!!
I couldn't quite get the hang of the hidden stitch to close it so i put in a small zipper. It doesn't look fantastic but he's a guy-as if he will notice!!:P
Thanks for looking Cheesy

145  Beautiful patches with nowhere to go.....:( in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by claraohara on: December 18, 2007 04:27:10 PM
Hi everyone!
Well I am stumped! I bought these gorgeous little vintage felt patches ages ago and I still have no idea what to do with them!
I was thinking of putting them on a wallet maybe but not sure what kind especially since I don't want them to get roughed up too much.
Any ideas?
Suggestions?
Here's a pic of them:

146  For the love of tartan! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by claraohara on: December 16, 2007 01:43:07 AM
Hi all!
I was rather bored tonight and since I have made tonnes of tops lately I decided I needed a skirt.
And after seeing those hot heartbreaker shorts I knew that it had to be tartan!
Though I am happy with the end result (I tend to have issues with zippers-no zipperfoot Smiley
I am tempted to add a little something to the bottom hem....
I was thinking of some cute black gathered lace I have but after pinning it on and seeing it I prefered it without.
Any suggestions?

And there's also a pic of a singlet top I reconned a few days ago....it was too small so I just added the lightening panel to make it fit. Would never wear it with the skirt (there is such thing as too much tartan!).

Anyway thanks for looking!
Cheesy

147  Fishy fishy fishy!!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by claraohara on: December 14, 2007 05:35:54 PM
Hi everyone!

I came to the horrible realisation this morning that I had forgotten to get my step sister a xmas gift.
Oooops!!
So since the money is all gone I decided to get crafty.
I made her this cushion.....It took a while with all the scales! I was inspired by the rainbow fish book-so pretty.
Cheesy

148  Gir from Invader Zim in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by claraohara on: November 19, 2007 10:10:34 PM
Hi all!
This is my first post yay!
I started this little project ages ago, put it aside and now I have finally finished him.
I sorta followed the tute here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=121035.msg1162746#msg1162746
But I doubled the size and used felt eyes instead of ping pong balls.
How does he look?
I keep asking my man but he doesnt seem to appreciate the time and effort put in!
Thanks!
P.S. He is my first stuffed attempt.
