21  Re: Craft My Celebrity Crush Gallery in The Swap Gallery by bold_as_love on: November 22, 2008 11:36:15 AM
Ok, so yesterday I came home after a particularly tough day running on 3hours of sleep (Twilight premire!!) and was ready to crash (or at least, yell at someone) and what should I find on my coffee table? MY SWAP PACKAGE! I was too impatient to take a picture of the box, I just ripped to open and almost passed out!!! Dannispring240 you are amazing!

Ok, so here's the breakdown:

I got this adorable bracelet with charms for Kevin Jonas (music note) Johnny Depp (skull) and Orlando Bloom (sword). It's so cute that my mom tired to steal it...haha.

Next, there were these three awesome christmas orniments, one for each of my crushes. Each one has chains on top with little beads and charms relating to my crush!

Blue with music notes for Kevin

Red with Skulls and a little set of keys for Johnny (OMG WHERE DID YOU GET THESE CHARMS Dannispring240?!?)

And Green with little leaves and swords and a wizard for Orlando (as Legolas in Lord of the Rings)

^detail shot

And last: this awesome Johnny t shirt! I love it so much I am wearing it right now!!!
Front: 'Savvy?' from PotC

Back: Johnny's sparrow tattoo

Not pictured: the right sleeve has my name

Everything is fantastic!! Thank you so much! I love it all! The charms are so cute, where in the world did you find such perfect ones??? ANd did you handpaint the shirt? It looks amazing! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

23  Twilight Tees [MORE ADDED!!] in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bold_as_love on: November 15, 2008 01:18:13 PM
So here's a shirt I did using a design that I found on Cafepress. Quileute High is meant to be the school that Jacob Black (who is a werewolf hence the wolf logo) of the Twlight series attends. I'm really happy with the stencil, it came out extremely clean Smiley

I'm toying with the idea of putting a pawprint and 'Once You Go Pack You Never Go Back' on the back of the shirt. Suggestions for colors would be much appriciated: I have the basic colors (RYGBP (no orange) black, pink, and white) but I kind of want to keep it simple. I need a color for the pawprint and the words and I would prefir to have one white.

Also, because I don't feel like starting a new post, here's a cell phone charm I threw together, nothing much.

anyone recognise the hat charm??

[EDIT:] Here are two more I made for my best friend's stepmom and her friend. Also modified from designs I found online. A couple of firsts here: First multicolored stencil, first time mixing own colors (trees and clouds). Everything is freezer papered except the trees, which are handpainted. They loved them!

24  To Pimp It, or Not to Pimp it... in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by bold_as_love on: October 28, 2008 02:17:11 PM
So we got our senior class shirts and I think the concept of a concert t-shirt is really cool, and a good idea, but frankly they're really ugly and plain, and the colors leave something to be disired. I mean, I can understand that since our school colors are blue and gold and all our shirts are always that color to try something different, but black and green?! Anyway, I was playing around with some cutouts and was trying to decided whether or not to freezer paper on the shirt to make it more concert-y. The design is based around the Woodstock/70s era music scene, but it's extremely hard to find colors that go with the black/green but still are like chill.

What's your opinion, should I do it, or leave it plain?

25  Political Statement Jeans [picture HEAVY] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bold_as_love on: October 26, 2008 08:05:33 AM
Since the upcoming election is one of the most important in our country's history and I shall not be able to cast my vote by a mere 120 hours I decided to show my support (and hopefully drum up some) for my candidate of choice, Barack Obama. Nothing more than sharpies on an old pair of falling apart jeans (ps- the holes are real, from use - I don't buy 'preripped denim). These will be worn on Nov. 3rd along with my OBAMA '08 t-shirt, and a fedora adorned with campaign buttons. Partisinship aside, comments welcome.

^my favorite, an ass on my ass... haha

EPIC FAIL ALERT: I accidently used magenta sharpie instead of red, so I had to redo all the red sections. Can you tell?

26  More Jonas Brother's Fun in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by bold_as_love on: October 26, 2008 07:51:37 AM
So I found that a hand craved Jonas Brother stamp does have more uses than I first expected. However it does help that many of my friends who happen to have birthdays also happen to be massively obsessed with the trio...

Here's a shirt that I stamped for a friend's birthday. We also gave her a scarf and a vest to wear with it, in keeping with the JoBro's style.

And here's the necklace we modified. We just added the guitar picks with the pictures to the star necklace.

Sorry for the awful picture quality. It's not one of the craftyest of projects, but she adored everything nonetheless.

27  Hey Ponies! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bold_as_love on: August 25, 2008 06:03:20 PM
So my group for camp was 5th graders who named themselves the "Pretty Pink Ponies." So our talent show routine began with the song "Hey Mickey" and the kids sung it as "Hey Ponies" These are the shirts I made for them (10, plus two for me and my other councelor). The ponies were done with freezer paper the lettering was free handed.

28  Spoon Painting (and more Jonas brothers) in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by bold_as_love on: July 11, 2008 11:15:11 AM
So, not only are spoons good for eating and playing cards (has anyone else ever played spoons?) they're also incredibly awesome for splatter painting. And there's minimal mess (well, minimal for splatter painting). The idea for this shirt has three inspirations.

1. My brother's favorite story to tell our houseguests about the time I was annoying him so he flung ice cream in my hair.
2. The big thing at the Jersey shore this year is black sweatshirts with neon splatter paint....for $40 each.
3. this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=213173.0

a close up of the peace signs (made with freezer paper)

also, my best friend and I are off to see the infamous Jonas Brothers. And obviously, although we are no where within a 2000 foot radius of the stage, she is determined to dazzle Nick, Joe, and Kevin with the awesome handmade Jonas apparel we made. And by our she actually means me. So here's the first in what I'm sure will turn into a whole clothing line of Jonas Brothers clothes. (They go well with her shoes, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=216646.0)

This one is freehanded, and the date is the date of the concert.

29  SuperBaby! Freezer Paper Onesies in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bold_as_love on: June 20, 2008 03:22:39 PM
So I made these for my uncle's new baby. I was going to do all the classic superheroes, but he's really into Transformers, and they're practically superheroes so they got put in too. All freezer paper and hand painted.

group shot.

close-ups:

Batman!

Superman! (I messed up, I know, the outline should be red, but I figured it kind of fits with a baby boy...)

Transformers!

Spiderman! (very simplified)

And, this last one is an iron-on that my mom wanted me to make, because my uncle's a rocker.

I'm pretty sure the inspiration for this was a post from craftster that I saw a while ago, so props to whoever's post it was!

30  16 Views Assignment in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by bold_as_love on: June 08, 2008 07:19:52 PM
We had to draw 16 different views of an item for my design class. I chose an old polariod camara with the back taken off. Each of the squares is 4 inches by 4 inches, making the whole thing 20x20 with mat. All 16 are hand drawn with pen and india ink. Some of them are popped up of the mat board.

Comments or criticisms always welcome.
