1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 26 ENTRIES / so ready for summer bag! on: April 01, 2008 03:14:50 PM
hi everyone, here is my dollar store challenge entry!  I am so ready for summer so when I was looking for an idea the silk flowers were yelling my name.  I got a plain black bag ($1) and $8 worth of silk flower petals.  I took all the flowers apart then sewed them on my bag. In the middle of the daisy looking flowers i sewed some neon buttons ($1) just to give them some character!  I totally love the bag and have been carring it around ever since I finished it!

my bag!

Hey everyone here is my new years resolution!  I really want to be more crafty this year but I'm always on the go.....so I made myself a huge tote bag that has a huge pocket on one side for my yarn, needles, hooks, and scissors.  Plus another big pocket on the other side for my new hand bound sketch book that I also made.  I usually just try and throw all my stuff in my purse and its always getting tangled up or sinking to the bottom of my bag so I have to pull everything out before I can find my hooks!  For the bag I used really heavy canvas so its totally durable!  I put my letters on using appliqu and actually embroidered the ball of yarn on to the bag with some yarn! So its really like a 3D ball of yarn (I wish the pictures would show it better.) For the handles I used fabric as well as ribbon to make it kinda girly.  I tested it out this weekend and it was totally awesome!  My sketch book I used cardboard and cloth to cover it, and some really cute old patches that I found in my junk drawer that I have been saving for a special project!  I hope yall like it!  Thanks for lookin!   Grin

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / new knitter needs help on: January 15, 2008 05:29:34 AM
hey everyone!  I'm a new knitter and I had a question...I just got the book stitch & bitch and I'm kind of confused about circular needles, my mother-in-law found me a bunch of circular needles and they are 29 inches but in the book Debbie Stoller doesn't mention anything about 29 inch needles?!?!  can I still use them or do I need to get 16, 24 and 32 like it says in the book?? Thanks a ton!
