I bought this lame dress at Goodwill for $4.00 last week because I wanted to experiment with my new sewing machine. I figured I could turn it into an Urban Outfitters-esque dress pretty easily.

I started by cutting off a good chunk of the bottom and sewing a new hem, then I took in the top to make it more form fitting. Throw in a nice waist belt and it ended up looking pretty good. I even made a little cape for my dog with the left over fabric!
