soooo, I made this a  while ago from scraps of fabric I already had. I wanted to try the 1x1" style, found it very hard however to get my seams lined up nicely!- I just don't know how you all do it! I was very proud, however, of the zipper attachment- it came out nicely I think. Now I can use it in the Coach purse my hubby got me for Valentine's day/ Bday

Problem being I didn't make a pattern & how that I want to try & do it again, it ain't working out- the hardest part is figuring out how big to make the circle for the base... it is 2 sides sewn together & the bottom left open- in which I then patch butt part on leaving space open to turn & stuff. My math is really off trying this- any advise would be appreciated!

For those of you who don't know about this game, I've post a pic below of the little, er big, cartoon guy. It's a fun multi-player game for the xBox 360 that came out a few months ago. I wanted to try & make a plushie- this was more/less a practice version I sewed by hand, I want to do it again (gifts) with white flannel & the correct colored felt pcs.... I just used what I had on hand. Also he needs to be more short & plump than tall (as he turned out). I also learned to keep him standing up better I should use some of that fabric stiffener stuff on his base- again glad I did a practice 1 first.

It's probably more of a kid's project, but I felt like painting something & had recently gotten a few hoops from Goodwill. I hung them in the front porch, but after 3 days they had both blew down- it's VERY windy here, eh.

Sooo, I found this pre-painted super cute candy corn wreath & some wood cat cut-outs. I paint the cats to reassemble my 2 kitties & haute glued them on!   
Anywho- pix!

Before my now husband joined the Air Force we had a lil party for him. He's always loved those chocolate chip cookie cakes from the mall- so I picked one up & asked them to do the lettering. I also asked for some extra icing to take home as I wanted to add my own design. So I put the icing in a ziplock bag & trimmed the tip off. I cut out the Air Force logo of paper & traced it with the icing, filled it in & lastly added blue as an accent. It turned out great & no baking required on my part! Check out the pic! 

Hello again! My hubby found this $30 iPod holder at a store the other day- it was black nylon I think, however he couldn't see spending that much for it. So what else would a crafty wife do?? Reply "I can make that!" 

So the other day while he was at work I did a trial to see how difficult it would be to cover this thing. I haven't used an iPod before so I was having a time trying to cover it & the thing kept start/stopping musak (I later learned to turn it off you hold the play/pause button down). 

Anyways, I messed with muslin to make a pattern, didn't work out that great. I decided I'd try felt since it's soft & won't stretch- bingo! Yellow & black scraps is what I had on hand... also found some of that clear vinyl stuff for $.73 at Joann's! <-- love that store! The only stitch I could think to do to attach the stuff was blanket, which I love anyways.

BTW: the initials are of his nickname. I still plan to make the black one he wants, however this at least will work for a lil while- I think he liked it, just asked me to put a slit in the bottom for the usb port.

Hello all! I made my 2 kitties costumes a few years back- but wanted to post them now.    I made the butterfly out of foam pcs & added some jewels- it is attached to her harness via a few slits. The Dracula outfit is just 2 pcs of felt & a sequin bowtie on elastic I already had.

Yes that's right- I painted our master bedroom this past week & technically (bcz I'm a perfectionist) there are still touch ups to be done! I saw this idea in a Better Homes & Gardens book: Decorative Paint, there are a ton of really kewl techniques & easy to follow instructions in there. I am really happy with how it turned out & I think my DH (dear husband) is impressed. I would do it again, for hire!    The funny part about projects like these are that you make a good amount of mistakes & figure out the best way to do things once the project is almost done- but I know for next time. The sadest part is that we live in Base Housing, so when we get orders to someplace new, we have to repaint the walls white again... 

I used Dutch Boy paint: Primitive Hedges, 2 gallons of flat & 1 of semi-gloss. I used 2" painter's brown low tack tape & this worked great as I just butt the edges up back to back & there you  have it -4" stripes! I used a green colored pencil to mark the lines before taping- which worked really well bcz the paint covers it with only one coat of semi-gloss. The idea to to have the same colour striped on the wall but in different finishes- so light reflects off the glossy paint & it looks really neat- DH even said it looks like wallpaper!

Throughout the week I ran out of things & sent my hubby to our favorite/only home-improvement store in town, Menard's... he was a great sport & even made sure I ate dinner    however I'm sure he was tired of seeing me in the same paint-stained clothes everyday, kind of like the girl from She's All That LOL... I worked from when he left in the am til dark- boy was I sore! Anywho, enough babbling & on to the pictures!
