I bought the snap "pliers" that are pretty easy to use.  It took once to figure it out but after that it was easy.  I knew I would NEVER figure it out with the installer where you have to use the hammer.

I went out and bought 5 pairs of socks (on the 5 for $10 rack) just to make sock monkeys.  Now I just have to get started.  Smiley

A little more info:  If you decide to use safety eyes, don't forget to put them in before you sew up the torso piece.  The tutorial doesn't tell you to put them on until the very end b/c she uses buttons.

I used Men's socks so Moscar is quite big.  If you want a smaller monkey use women's socks.  I also cut a bit off of the tail b/c if I did it exactly how the tutorial said it would have been very long.

When my husband was a kid, he had a sock monkey named Oscar.  He carried it around everywhere telling everyone that it was "My Oscar".  He said it so fast, though, that it soon got shortened to Moscar.  I decided last night that my son Evan needed a Moscar of his own.  Here's how he turned out.  I used this tutorial http://www.web-goddess.org/writing/tutorial/Image0.html.  He's not perfect...his eyes are too far apart & his smile is crooked but I think he's kinda cute.  I used safety eyes instead of buttons since Evan is only 6 months old.  Thanks for looking

I finally made one!  This was my first zipper EVER....it was easier than I expected but I still had to rip it out once.  Here's the link to the picture b/c I STILL can't get my pictures to post here.  http://bp1.blogger.com/_rbrCwiWFVyA/R5WJvYcdbNI/AAAAAAAACMM/lPqq6h2qZsk/s1600-h/DSC_0146.JPG
