Just a little tidbit I stitched up, needs pressing and framing. Pretty sure this was a free pattern from the anticraft, probably :/

3  Mermaid Costume Sweetness in Crochet: Completed Projects by crosswind on: October 25, 2012 06:29:52 PM
So, I whipped up a super cute mermaid costume for my ex-wife in-law's (long story short I married and divorced her first husband and now cohabitate with her older brother and still have a wonderful relationship with my former stepdaughter - if I am not on Jerry Springer one day it will be a miracle) new baby.

It is based roughly on a purchased pattern (pretty much the shell top is the only part I followed), the mermaid princess cuddle critter cape set from Calleigh's Clips & Creations and stitched with a random assortment of yarns.

The tail:

The tiara:

The top:

This was my first attempt at crocodile stitch and I didn't quite get it from the pattern so I did some research and found an explanation that made more sense to me and winged it from there.

Thanks for looking Smiley

I received my fabulous package from lindyv321 today.  Thanks so much lindy, I love everything.

First up are two lovely wall hangings in woodgrain and Buddha themes ( I particularly adore the embroidered Buddha!)

Next we have the toadstool and bird's nest/eggs theme with a pincushion, a pendant and an eyepatch (for future reference kitties do no work well as action shot models for eye patches!)

And now my favorite (I love love love love love this!) for my pickle theme a pickley shirt!

AAAAANNNNNDDDDD Extras! Notecards, a cute little notebook with a pen, a birdhouse, a fairy book and candy! I will use several of these for gifts from the fairies that I leave outside my stepdaughters fairy door

Please excuse the gratuitous use of kitties in these pics, they liked the package a lot too!

I finally had a spare moment to take some pictures of the seriously stupendous package that queenninjamonkey sent me and here they are!

First we have log/woodgrain: a ceramic cup/pencil holder, magnets, a beautiful bracelt, some beads, stationary, a lovely necklace with 2 additional pendants, a freakin' awesome pincushion straight off my wist (as are several other things she sent) with some toadstool pins (which was another of my themes), and super ring

Next up is my pickle theme: I am in love with needle punch embroidery thanks to queenninjamonkey and this sawheet pickle dude, and a way cute jar of pickles key chain

For my Zakka theme: a squirrel toaster cover (from Zakka Sewing, a book I must go out and get), the cutest little house coasters (also from Zakka Sewing), and some cute rubber stamps (a squirrel and a tree).  And get this....all HAND sewn!

For my Garden theme: A very nice retro camper birdhouse, a gorgeous stepping stone (the postage...egads!), and some yummy smelling hand scrub for after gardening (no pictures of it though - it is in my office with the lid off trying to banish the stench of a coworkers tiger balm)

And for Ms. Jane Austen: A what would Jane Austin do tshirt (this seriously rocks) and a beautiful altered box

And after all that there are even some extras (truly you spoiled me queenninjamonkey!) butterfly notecards and stickers (another of my possible themes) and a gorgeous necklace from my wist

I love love love everything.  Thank you so much queenninjamonkey!

For a change of scenery (actually because I am working several 12 hour days in a row and left my camera at work) I took the pics of my wonderful goodies from slyfox in my office.

And here they are!

A fantabulous druid animal oracle deck and some fun arty (but not messy) stuff for my step-daughter (I will probably leave these at her fairy door as a surprise from the fairies - the slyfox fairie!)

A pretty decoupaged mirror, recipe cards and card box, a mini sharpie, a little change purse, a decoupaged container and a super cute teapot pincushion and sweet little needlebook and an awesome pennant banner thingie - soooooo cute!

Last but certainly not least are some hot pads and table runners and two VERY cute lunch sacks ( I love the design of these!)

Thanks so much slyfox, you sent a great package chock full of goodness!

Here is the pic of my goodies from theballandskein:

There is a lovely lunch set with sandwich and snack bags, a nice chai, a pouch (sewn by her daughter as a learn to sew project, very nice job!), some hand made soap (from her son, a very crafty family), a cute button, some embroidery floss, some cotton upon which to embroider, some embroidery patterns and some fiber (I very much want to learn felting.)  I love every bit of my package - Thanks theballandskein and family!
