1  Re: Craftalong Un-swap part 2: embroidery in The Swap Gallery by PaigeyLovesPooka on: January 03, 2005 05:15:31 PM
OK, I did it! My first embroidery!

I got the stitch-it Kiit for Christmas, but then decided to try to freehand a picture onto the teatowel!  We have these kitty-face mugs, and I wanted  to make a picture of one of them filled with coffee.  It's cool, it kinda worked!

My husband asked what I was doing (I was embroidering it in bed, hee, hee), and when I showed him he said, "finally!  I was wondering when you were going to start embroidering!"  Huh!?!?!   Maybe because I've been trying out so many other crafts lately?  Maybe because he's always dreamed of having a wife who embroidered???  I don't know!  I'd have thought he'd be more excited about the socks I'm knitting for him, he can at least WEAR those! LOL! Cheesy

2  Re: Craftalong Un-swap Part 1a: Sewing a purse in The Swap Gallery by PaigeyLovesPooka on: December 02, 2004 12:32:56 PM
I did it!  I made a purse last week, it's already been in constant use by me!  I'll post descriptions and pics later today!
**Update**
OK, pics!  The first one is the outside, the second is the inside with the pocket.

I ended up taking apart an old pair of favorite-but-too-small wool pants, and making the lining out of leftover fabric from my first quilt, made last winter. The inside pocket is actually the pocket from the pants!

I LOVE to bag and have been carrying it non-stop all week!

It's a Jordy bag, about the size of a big, thick book, and has a long strap.  I'm so amazed that I actally made a purse, I'm dying to make a bunch more!  It'll have to wait until after Christmas, though!

Wow, are you serious?!?!?!   Shocked  There's more?  I guess your note did say that, now I remember, but I'm overwhelmed to think there could be more.  Amazing.  I only hope your other swappers treat you as well as you have treated me.
Thanks so much, again!   Grin   -PaigeyLP
