1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Favorite Quote : Pictureframe [IMG HEAVY] on: July 01, 2009 11:07:44 AM
I've been wanting to do something with my favorite quote for a while,  it sums up how I feel about life and how confidence is key. I definitely wanted to put it in my washroom because I had just cleaned it from top to bottom. I wanted to go to Michaels but I only had about 15$  So i decided to hit up my local dollarama... Surprisingly they have A HUGE selection of craft stuff! Things for scrapbooking and such

So I picked up a couple things and came out with an 13$ purchase for everything Smiley
The Frame...

The stickers, my new cute scissors, the cute little picture frames

Close up on the frames

The dried flowers...yes i know right like this was all at DOLLARAMA , never seen such cute things, they had these small purple and yellow dried flowers too , but i wanted to keep it simple Smiley

The paper for the background

Little square mirror pieces

Coming Along nicely!!

FINI !! Smiley

So excited to go back Smiley

ahhh!
this is the most beautiful thing Smiley
and you know what, you have to be stronger than those people because they really dont understand what hard work , concentration, long hours, it takes to go into a sewing project. That happened with me and my dress I just made, I spent so much time on it and I think it looks pretty darn professional Wink yet people didnt see the full picture, and only  I really know how much went into it, and you should be proud of your accomplishment Smiley
keeep up the good work!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / University Portfolio Help !!!! on: August 07, 2008 11:53:08 AM
i have no clue if this is supposed to go here but... im in need... please redirect me it IS a question board Smiley

So I have decided that i'm obsessed with the fact of wanting to go into fashion design. September will be the start of my last year of highschool ! I have already researched and I want to go to Ryerson University in Toronto (I live an hour away so its very convienient) ANYWAYS... to apply you have to send a portfolio with the requirments obviously...
a link to these requirements are here:

http://www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/downloads/nonacademic_FashionDesign_Portfolio.pdf
scroll down to portfolio and it has the 2 categories with the requirements.

I want to start on these garments asap!
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should make for the 3 garments?
Maybe two pieces of womens clothing and then a childs outfit, that would be fun !
or maybe one from womans, one mens, and one childs?
I could encorporate my style into the childs piece too.. it would be cute!?

yes no?!?!?
help me Smiley
breaaaaaaaakdown

AND PS:
if anyone has any websites or are willing to sell a serger for cheap Wink
message me!

i love it ^_^ i don't usually sew on the floor cause i have my table but when my machine is on the floor and i need to fix things quick then i just leave it there, and let me tell you, it ain't good for the back! xD

on a side note: why not just put your machine on the kitchen table when you are sewing? o.O thats usually where iend up sewing even though i have a perfectly good sewing table ;P

Oh and, did you use a zipper in that? or is it stretchy? or no zipper at all? Smiley very curious, i want to make somethin similar Smiley

im very sad to say, i forgot to mention but the only flaw i have in this dress is that it calls for a zipper, but i thought i didnt need one because for SOME REASON i thought it would be stretchy?[wasnt thinking that cotton doesnt stretch? lol] but fortunately i can pull it on and off over my head with some difficulty, but it fits perfect when its on:)
if i make another dress like this, im definetly going to put a zipper, pattterns never lie!
