3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you store your yarn? on: January 09, 2009 11:57:27 AM
I have been sharing my yarn with other folks, though.  I have an online friend in California (I'm in GA) who is going through chemo, who can't afford to buy yarn, so every couple of months, I send off a box of yarn to her.  I make afghans and every time there is an article in the paper about a family whose house burned, I make sure they get an afghan.  Afghans just make you feel like you are at home, no matter where you are.

That's awesome.  I wish I had the patience to make afghans.  I've only done a couple & they are so time consuming for me.  So I have turned to scarves.  I make them for the homeless people in my community.

What is the best way to store your yarn?  I'm a little new to all of this.  I have some in bags, but some are out in the open.

I just got this bookcase from Ikea last weekend.  I was storing everything in something less than half this size.  It's still not perfect, but getting there.
