11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Stan the monster wallet on: September 07, 2008 01:25:07 PM
I loved Deadpan's wallet so much - I had to make one of my own. DH doesn't like him. Sad

Introducing Stan!

There's a little pocket inside  as well. I'll be slipping in a little cash for Christmas.
12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Chinese take out box sewing kit on: August 31, 2008 11:27:47 PM
I found this pattern at the thrift store for $.25 yesterday. The pattern was already cut & there was only 1/2. So I assumed the 2nd 1/2 was identical to 1st. 1/2 the instructions were missing too --- without further ado! My Chinese Take Out Box sewing kit.

The inside-

I'm going to put a snap on the end of the ribbon to better hold my scissors. I didn't want to break out the hammer late at night & wake the kids!

The outside

I need to put a button or felt flower on the top of the box as I left a little marking that needs to be covered. Other than that - I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Tinted Whimsical Flowers on: May 26, 2008 03:27:13 PM
I really wanted to try the tinting technique that's been discussed recently. I went with something small & simple just in case it went terrible I wouldn't feel so bad.
I stitched on a fancy cotton frette napkin.

I'm sorry for the photo. I tried inside & out.... the camera just gives a heck of a time with embroidery.

14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Funky chicken & nuts on: May 14, 2008 10:43:51 PM
It's late so I just scanned this one in- It's on a cheapie walmart towel (live & learn)  I did NOT drag any thread.  Angry I think it's shadows from being squished on the flatbed scanner. And of course, I haven't washed & ironed it yet. I'm going to be super busy for the next few days & wanted to show this off! Wink
It's for my pal who hates chickens. Yesterday was her BD.

15  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Itsy Bitsy Polka Dotted Dress - Image heavy on: May 10, 2008 01:30:05 PM
I made this dress for my DD last weekend. It was my 1st attempt at a lettuce edge hem. I don't have a serger. I must admit, I was pretty impressed by it! TG for internet tutorials! Wink The dress is a size 8.

16  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Embroidered Baby bib from Irish linen napkins on: April 29, 2008 10:23:22 PM
The other day my boss brought me some lovely Irish linens to post on Freecycle. I knew immediately they were destined to become a baby bib!

The color is a wee bit off - the flash didn't go off.  Roll Eyes

17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little crocodile on: November 17, 2007 07:26:05 PM
This lil' guy is actually V2. The 1st wasn't a complete success.
Pattern from Toys to Sew

18  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby Girl Rag Quilt on: November 16, 2007 10:59:09 PM
Just thought I would like to share -- This is my 1st rag quilt. I made it for my new baby niece. I I didn't use anything in between the squares. I found two layers of flannel along with the assorted chenille & minky was pretty heavy.
