21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Sea Life inchies on: March 25, 2010 08:59:40 AM
These are for a person swap with EdelC. I hope she enjoys them Smiley I had a hard time letting them go as they're some of my favorites. The background is a tie dyed fabric glued onto watercolor paper. I found the images in a wonderful page a day calendar that I got on sale (90% off!) in late January.

What do you think?

(I hope that image isn't too big....)
22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Inchie my theme swap on: March 23, 2010 05:48:45 AM
I've noticed in the ABC swap that a lot of people have fantastic ideas for themes for inchies. What about a swap just for that? We would probably be in groups of 7 and make 7 inchies for each others (seems to be the standard). We could either give one theme and have our partners make that, or we could do a pick a theme kind of thing. For pick a theme we would name 3 (or more) different themes and let our partners choose which they wanted to make. What do you think?

If there is any interest in this I could organize it but not until the ABC inchie swap is over.  Inchie swaps are an organizer handful so I don't think I could do more than one at a time.

O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock
The meat it feeds on. That cuckold lives in bliss,
Who, certain of his fate, loves not his wronger:
But O, what damnd minutes tells he o'er
Who dotes, yet doubts, suspects, yet strongly loves!

Details of swap:
Inchies are tiny little works of art. They are exactly 1" by 1". When grouped together make a wonderful work of art. For this swap, each person will make an alphabet - 26 letters, A to Z. You will then send various letters to different people within your group. Each group will consist of 6 people. The sending system will be as follows:

AGMSY   S#1> S#2>S#3>S#4>S#5>S#6>S#7>S#1
BHNTZ    S#1>S#3>S#5>S#7>S#2>S#4>S#6>S#1
CIOU   S#1>S#4>S#7>S#3>S#6>S#2>S#5>S#1
DJPV   S#1>S#5>S#2>S#6>S#3>S#7>S#4>S#1
EKQW   S#1>S#6>S#4>S#2>S#7>S#5>S#3>S#1
FLRX   S#1>S#7>S#6>S#5>S#4>S#3>S#2>S#1

This will insure that the styles in the alphabet are mixed up a bit.

All you would ever want to know about a inchie here - thanks Phizzychick for writing that up
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=303188.0

With send outs of 4/21 you can start right away BUT bear in mind that you may be partnered with someone(s) who require a family/child friendly set. That will be explained more in the questionnaire. All mediums are welcome.  Inchies need to be on a sturdy base such as card stock, cardboard, water color paper etc. If you plan to make fabric inchies please make sure they are stiffened with interfacing or some other medium.

When shipping your inchies, please take care to protect them. Have them enclosed in a notecard of some sort or an inside envelope. If they have a lot of texture or 3D material, please be aware that they may require more postage if they cannot go through the sorting machines. Check at the post office if you are concerned.

Pictures are required.  Some like to post pics as they receive and others like to post after they received all of them.  You may use a camera or a scanner.

(This post is a plagarization of goatgoddess from past Inchies Swaps Smiley )

When sending pms to the organizer please have the following on the subject line: Alphabet Inchies

Details of swap:
Did you know that each month is dedicated to something... unusual? Pleasure Your Mate Month, National Egg Month, National Tie Month!
There are weeks dedicated to Root Canal Awareness, Rabbits, and Waffles! (Individual weeks, not one week for all of those... or maybe there is.... )
Did you know that each month has "odd" holidays - the ones that not many people know about or celebrate?  There's a National Don't Step on a Bee Day! Licorice Day! Talk Like Shakespeare Day! This swap is to celebrate those unknown or unusual holidays. Each swapper will chose 6 holidays from the lists provided. Each partner will choose from those 6 holidays and craft 3 small items for their partner. A small item is defined as: by time-2 or less hours; by size-earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks, magnets; by price-$10 or less. U.S. packages MUST have a DC#, and international packages must have a receipt. Please provide both to the organizer when you ship. Shipping priority is suggested but not a requirement.

In order for this to be a monthly swap we MUST have a fast turn around time. Due to the fast turn around time, the organizer reserves the right to not add someone to the swap if there has been a documented history of repeated late sending. Please do not sign up for this swap unless you are prepared to send on time, if not early, and post pictures as soon as your package arrives.

Communication is a must! You must check in on the original thread and the gallery thread at least once a week. You also must check in with your partner once a week. Poor communication or lack thereof will be noted in feedback.
When PMing the organizer please start pms with the following:  MOH April Sign up, MOH April Question, MOH April Sent, or MOH April Received.

28  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / FYI - Virus attack on: February 09, 2010 12:52:18 PM
I don't know exactly how viruses work. I'm not evil enough to make one  Angry Anyway, I was on Craftster about an hour ago - on the FOC Off topic board to be exact,  you can see my last post there to see what time it was - and got hit by a nasty virus. My pc is down. I can't do anything on it. I'm hoping my husband can go into the registry or set up or cmd or whatever it is that IT guys do and fix it. I'm on my son's pc now and am honestly a little worried about being here too long. I was only on Craftster when the virus hit me so I'm thinking it came through one of the ads. Anyway...just wanted to let the admins/mods know so they can look into it Sad

30  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Jesus Freak swap? on: February 05, 2010 02:29:24 PM
I went to Winterjam 2010 last night and am on a bit of a Jesus Freak high right now Smiley I know we've had Christian themed swaps in the past but I haven't seen one for a while. Anyone interested in one?

I'm thinking the requirements would be a medium and 2 smalls and we'd have about 6 weeks to craft.

Anyone?
