11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Inchie My Theme Round 2? on: February 28, 2011 10:59:04 AM
Link to Round 1:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=346911.0

Would anyone be interested in a 2nd round? I was thinking 4 or 5 partners and making 8 inchies for each.

Thoughts?
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / When you have an idea, what do you do? on: October 02, 2010 10:52:52 AM
I have a dress for my dd in my head that I want to knit. I've done lots of research on different techniques, and different patterns to get ideas. I've knitted one swatch and am going to knit at least one more in a different size needle(s). I've done sketches. I know I'll need to do a graph for the colorwork. I just can't decide if I should try to write out a pattern before or do it after.

Do you write out a pattern first? Or do you start knitting and see what happens?
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cute little top for my daughter on: June 30, 2010 06:41:02 PM
Made from Lily SugarnCream self striping cotton yarn. Just a simple stockinette stitch with garner stitch on the top and bottom.

Sign-up date range: 5/9 - 5/22
Date to send item by: 6/23
Limited to a certain number of people? (optional):  36

- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 13 years old: YES
- Participant lives in the United States: YES and NO
   - If yes, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: These packages will be letter size and too small for Delivery Confirmation, but you MUST be willing to resend if a package is not received in order to get positive feedback.
   - If no, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: See the note about delivery confirmation.

Details of swap:
Inchies are tiny little works of art. They are exactly 1" by 1". When grouped together make a wonderful work of art. For this swap, each participant will list UP TO 5 themes that they would like to receive. We will be in groups of 9 so each participant will have 8 swap partners. We will make 12 inchies for each partner for a total of 96 inchies. (Yes - 96 inchies!) It's entirely up to you how you divide that 12 up by theme. Say one of your partners lists 5 themes: pinup girls, boats, blue, trees, and clouds. You could make 12 inchies based on trees. Or you could make 4 pinup girl inchies and then 2 for each of the other themes. Or maybe you'd rather do 4 blue inchies, 4 boat inchies, 3 tree inchies, and 1 cloud inchie. Whatever you want Smiley

If you've never made an inchie before you may be wondering just what exactly we're talking about. All you would ever want to know about a inchie can be found here - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=303188.0 . Thanks Phizzychick for the write up Smiley

When shipping your inchies, please take care to protect them. Have them enclosed in a notecard of some sort or an inside envelope. If they have a lot of texture or 3D material, please be aware that they may require more postage if they cannot go through the sorting machines. Check at the post office if you are concerned.

Pictures are required.  Some like to post pics as they receive and others like to post after they received all of them.  You may use a camera or a scanner.

(This post is a plagarization of goatgoddess from past Inchies Swaps Smiley )

When PMing the organizer please put INCHIE MY THEME in the subject line. Thanks!

Details of swap:
Did you know that each month is dedicated to something... unusual? June is Turkey Lovers Month, Ice Tea Month and National Accordian Awareness Month!
There are weeks dedicated to Superman, Watermelon Seed Spitting, and Clotheslines!
Did you know that each month has "odd" holidays - the ones that not many people know about or celebrate?  National Camera Day, Donut Day, and a day to Let it Go!
This swap is to celebrate those unknown or unusual holidays. Each swapper will chose 6 holidays from the lists provided. Each partner will choose from those 6 holidays and craft 3 small items for their partner. A small item is defined as: by time-2 or less hours; by size-earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks, magnets; by price-$10 or less. U.S. packages MUST have a DC#, and international packages must have a receipt. Please provide both to the organizer when you ship. Shipping priority is suggested but not a requirement.

In order for this to be a monthly swap we MUST have a fast turn around time. Due to the fast turn around time, the organizer reserves the right to not add someone to the swap if there has been a documented history of repeated late sending. Please do not sign up for this swap unless you are prepared to send on time, if not early, and post pictures as soon as your package arrives.

Communication is a must! You must check in on the original thread and the gallery thread at least once a week. You also must check in with your partner once a week. Poor communication or lack thereof will be noted in feedback.

When PMing the organizer please start pms with the following:  MOH June
