11  Re: Seeking a few patterns - anyone help? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by starfishsea on: February 27, 2009 03:22:46 PM
Etsy has tons of patterns for swaddlers/cocoons/papoose by just searching something like "Crochet Cocoon Pattern"....and their are tons for sale for inspiration Smiley

Here is one I made for a friends baby girl.

12  Baby Cocoon Papoose in Crochet: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: February 27, 2009 03:10:45 PM
A friend of mine is due any day now, so I thought I'd send her a little baby cocoon....it's cold in winter in Oregon! Smiley It measures 18 inches long, and 12 inches wide.

It's made with 2 strands of yarn (1 regular, 1 boucle) to help keep it tight....so no little toes or hands can get stuck in the stitches. I'm not normally a fan of generic baby colors, but I was in a hurry and I had to use up stash yarn Smiley

I don't have a baby to model yet...so a teddy bear will have to do!

13  Another Cupcake Hat - Glow in the dark! in Crochet: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: February 06, 2009 09:12:14 AM
This cupcake hat was requested to have fluffy white frosting, a minty green base, button sprinkles and a cherry. She said it was going to be worn at raves....which made me remember the glow in the dark yarn I bought during Halloween!

I completely forgot to take a picture of it glowing in the dark before I sent it off though, I was in a hurry Sad I know these pictures aren't the greatest, but it's been raining so it was hard to get a nice clear shot.

That glow in the dark yarn felt very fake, but it's still pretty cool Smiley I'm pretty sure you can still find it online, it's by Bernat.

14  Cupcake Baby Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: January 27, 2009 03:36:26 PM
I'm in love with those little cupcake hats on babies, so I thought I'd have to make one too!

I do think it could of used some sprinkles or something....but I didin't want to add beads because it was for a little girl, and you never know with all the choking hazards. I want to make a fuzzy baby blue one with a dark brown base for my baby boy, but my fiance already said his son cannot wear cupcakes. We will see Tongue

I need to learn how to crochet beads right onto the project I think  Grin

I just wanted to share a picture of a custom Ninja Turtle beanie I did...in PINK! I actually love it and think it looks cool in pink, but my fiance on the other hand didin't understand the pink lol.

He just kept saying "But Ninja Turtle's aren't pink..."

16  Amigurumi Tea Set in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: January 27, 2009 03:31:19 PM
Just a little amigurumi teapot and teacup  Grin

Although once I finished it I realized that the teapot looks kind of like a cupcake, so my next one will have to be in cupcake colors!

The trim on the teapot is actually straight, but I forgot to straighten it out before the picture oops.

17  Christmas Gifts from Urban Threads in Needlework: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: December 27, 2008 12:50:19 PM
No idea why these pictures are so huge, I made them smaller on photobucket.

I made an embroidery for both sets of my grandparents, and my fiance's grandparents. Next time though I wont get cheap dollar tree frames because it wrinkles them to much....but ah lessen learned.

This is a cherry blossom branch for my Dad's parents, they go to Japan almost every year so I thought they might like this Smiley

My fiance's grandparents are very into birds and birdwatching. This picture isin't as good because I had to take it fast since we needed to leave for Christmas and it still wasen't wrapped lol.

This was for my Mom's parents...they love wine and it says "I love cooking with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food"

It was a lot of fun, I learned from my mistakes....and now I just need to figure out how to make it smooth when I put it in the frames  Grin

18  Ninja Turtle Beanies in Crochet: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: December 27, 2008 12:39:10 PM
I have some friends in Alaska who I wanted to send some gifts to...and they always comment on my beanies, so I thought I'd make them one! I made three different sizes and three different colors so they could choose Smiley

19  Snowboarder Sled Girl in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by starfishsea on: December 27, 2008 12:37:24 PM
I wanted to make something wintery and snuggly, so here is what I came up with Smiley

At first she was just going to be a snowboarder, but the first board I made was waaaay to big so my fiance suggested I make it into a sled....what a good idea!

If the pictures are wonky, there are better ones in my blog.

Here is a picture of her on my tree:

20  Re: Mini holiday Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by starfishsea on: December 19, 2008 05:20:56 PM
EDIT: If some of the pictures are a little wonky, you can always check out better ones on my blog...I'm not sure why these are showing up weird.

Yay I got my swap package sweetlysedated! I LOVE it. She did an awesome job. I actually didin't even know I recieved, the package was behind my tomato plant...luckily I actually like to water them haha. I must say, I am very spoiled  Grin

I mentioned that I love snowmen, and I got a package full of snowmany goodness!

When I opened the package, I was greeted to this (minus the ornament, I forgot to put it in the picture oops)...

The first present had an adorable little snowman themed stocking...perfect for the baby! I especially love the carrot colored buttons! It also contained little snowman coasters that are to cute to actually use (I dont want to ruin them!) ....so I have them hanging up as a decoration Smiley

Then she sent not one, but TWO embroidered onesies! Her embroidery is perfect, my newbie skills are very jealous Smiley I cant wait to show my fiance the BYOB one, he will love it haha. Turquoise is my favorite color so of course I'm loving the Bebe one Smiley

She also stalked my Wists a bit and saw some super glittery ornaments I have on it...and she made me one! I LOVE it. I dont know what it is about glitter, but it makes me happy. Here is a picture of it on my tree.

She also sent me the leftover snowman fabric which is super awesome, don't the snowmen look like they are made from marshmallows? AND some snowmen scissors! That's actually pretty funny, I was just saying today that I need new scissors to cut my felt since they are getting to dull.

Thank you sweetlysedated, I love everything!!

Oh and whatever kind of chocolate is in the orange wrappers is amaaaaaazing.
