1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: How My Garden Grows Gallery on: April 29, 2010 03:55:44 PM
I received a GREAT box from torilimcadle today!!!  It is full of prettiness!

I'll post pics tomorrow night (weather permitting) as I need a full light - dark cycle of hours in order to show the pure awesomeness of one of the items!  (My brave crafty partner has wiring skills!  Wow!)

THANK YOU, Tori!  Big smiles and laughter as I dug into my box.  I was so excited that I couldn't wait until I got home after going to 2 grocery stores so I opened it up in the p.o.  The post office ladies were ooooooo'ing and aaaaaaah'ing in wonderment over the big item!  Smiley

I foresee making lots more of what I've made for my partner and using them as small Christmas gifts.

I think the world should be very glad that a) I don't have access to large quantities of thermite and b) I'm not telekinetic.  I'm just sayin'.  Wink

Computer up and down due to waves of thunderstorms.

Back to container gardening *sigh*. Best friend's husband came over to till my garden plots and ruptured a gas line in my backyard.  No big boom, thank God, but an unpleasant adventure, nonetheless.  Turns out, it was an obsolete pipe (the gas company didn't even know any of those were still in place), 1/2" PVC from the 1960's and only 3-4" deep!  Supposed to be a more flexible piping, at least 3/4" diameter, and and 16" deep.   Gas company will dig up my yard and my landlord's yard in a few weeks to replace pipes.  Would destroy any garden I put in the ground. Sad  So, I'm radically overhauling my plans and saving back lots of seeds for next year.  *sigh*

Hit paydirt (pun intended) on a 40lb. bag of potting soil at the grocery store where I pay my gas bill.  Hoodyhoo!

I have figured out the medium for my partner.  Should be able to knock it out this weekend.  The base is simple.  I just have to figure out the adornment.  Also have 4 smalls figured out (1 is rather tiny).

It POURED here last night.  We had flash flooding and road closures.  There was also some wind damage in the area.  No working in the backyard today.  Sad  I'm even going to pull on my rubber boots to walk out back to hang a load of laundry. LOL

Divided up seeds with my best friend today.  We had seed packets spread out all over her table.  It was fun.

I have figured out multiple smalls for my partner but haven't had a medium or large idea grab me, yet.  Hmmmm.... OK, maybe 1 medium.  But, I'm still waiting for inspiration.  The smalls are cute, though, and I'm satisfied with how they're going.

*sigh*  Working on my partner's goodie.  The Klingons are fighting back.  *sigh*
