i had my wisdom teeth out last week and during recovery time, i decided to make some lined zipper pouches with extra fabric i had lying around.  they came out cute!

your crayon tute worked wonders!  here my husband is, modeling his gift:

AH!  that makes SO much more sense!  i think the only thing confusing me now is the lines:

"Do not sew the seam opposite of where the hood is attached. In fact, you probably will not be able to sew this section because the hood will certainly interfere. This is the part where you will pull out the scarf ends and hood."

i think one of those is the right way to sew it, but which one?  or am i completely off base? 

i whipped this little guy up yesterday afternoon; when i saw this beautiful charcoal felt i knew i had to make something out of it!

but i don't know how to achieve the same shape myself.  i see that there is darting of some sort on the bottom.  can anyone help me out?

i was so pleased with how this tote came out that i decided to make another one similar.  i am a huge chocolate brown lover, and this time i decided to pair it up with a tiffany blue. instead of making the handles from felt, i used martha stewart grosgrain ribbon for the straps and i love how feminine it looks!


the outer fabric is 100% wool felt!  so nice but expensive.

so i absolutely adore NOCHI's purses, bags, etc...but i especially enjoy her "pursonal" pouches for holding monthly supplies.

i do not, however, have the funds for such a purchase, so i decided to make my own!  i wanted one with a bit more subdued fabric on the outside so as to not warrant undue attention, so i used some scrap tweed i had around.






here you can see it's kept closed with a magnetic snap.


mine's not as neat as the originals, but it works!  instead of keeping panty liners/pads on the left side as suggested, i'm keeping a little tin with tylenol in the big pocket.

i have been making a million bags for everyone else so i decided to make one for me.  i was at the fabric store and stumbled upon this beautiful, perfect shade of green felt and fell in love.  thus, maggiebag!

i am a teacher and so i figured i could use a nice big bag to bring my things to school.

i used a snap closure for the first time.


the lining is a happy red floral-ish pattern.  i didn't want to get too christmas-y with red and green but i think this works.


it looks so happy when it's full!

i made another one tonight; my little sister is in love with music.  she plays the flute and wants to be a professional musician when she grows up.  so when i saw this beautiful fabric, i knew i needed to make her a christmas gift out of it!
