2  Courage the Cowardly Dog Inchies (New Inchies included) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by educharme on: April 03, 2011 08:10:59 AM
These are my first try at inchies, but I'm addicted. I'm a little disappointed with how plain they seem, but I'm happy cause they are Courage! Cheesy squeeeeee

3  New lining for a tote :) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by educharme on: April 01, 2011 08:35:45 PM
I had this great tote that my sister gave me, from a bookstore where she lived. Inside it was just blah, with seams showing, and everything got jumbled together. So I sewed a lining for it, and added pockets and pen holders. Cheesy

Here is the tote itself. One the other side is a quote from To Kill a Mockingbird that reads: "Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing."

And here's the inside lining, side with the pen holder and notepad holder:

And the pockets for my wallet, iPod and phone:

On a side note, I made the wallet and iPod case the other night too. Smiley I love the fabric, but the little fabric piece on the iPod holder was sewn in backwards, so you see the blue instead of black fabric, and the top stitching is a little sloppy. Oh well. I like it. Smiley

4  Chickens! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by educharme on: February 13, 2011 08:43:33 AM
I have a love of chickens. I own 5 of them and they are treated like part of the family! (except they can't come in the house lol). So last night I was playing WoW and got tired of leveling (I'm a nerd, I know), so I felt like doing some sewing. I modified a pattern I found online and tried my hand at it. Came out nice I think.

I like the tail especially. The original pattern was for a rooster, and the tail was just so floppy and looked weird. With this tail, I can make a peacock too! Just need to tweak it a bit. Anyway. Thanks for looking!

6  Question about Alan Dart's Sackboy pattern in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by educharme on: August 26, 2010 08:07:53 PM
So I'm making my son a sackboy for Christmas, and boy was I so happy to find a pattern for it! Here's the problem. I am following the pattern, but because of the increases, it's making little "holes" in the fabric. Now, I've seen pictures of the complete sackboys, and I don't see any of these holes that I'm making on theirs. Any idea why mine would come out this way? Maybe i'm not following it right? Here's the pattern up to the point that I have on the needles right now:

Cast on 12 sts with Click for base edge and st st 2
rows.
1st inc row K1, (inc 1) three times, K3, (inc 1) three
times, K2. [18 sts]
Next row Purl.
2nd inc row K1, (inc 1, K1) three times, K3,
(inc 1, K1) three times, K2. [24 sts]
Next row Purl.
3rd inc row (K2, inc 1) three times, K5, (inc 1, K2)
three times, K1. [30 sts]

And here is what it's coming out like:

I'm a left handed knitter, but I don't believe that would be what's causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

I received my lovely bead soup from Funkypork, and I owe her an apology for not posting sooner. I got a true bead soup and there were many lovelies in it! I haven't even had time to seperate them all, and I'm still ooo-ing and ahhh-ing over finds!

Lovely bag of sead beads, charms, metal clasps, an awesome memory wire bracelet and lovely earrings!

Bracelet and earrings

Close up of the soup.

So far my favorites have to be the little cube beads in blue with brown edges. Love them! TY so much and again I am so sorry I didn't post sooner.

9  Re: Help Me Lose Weight Swap Round 2 Gallery (SO 8/14/2010) in The Swap Gallery by educharme on: August 13, 2010 09:31:09 AM
I got my package from dharma_rebel today! Well, it actually came yesterday, but we were not home. =/

I LOVE IT! You are so talented Rachel! Cheesy I'm actually doubting my totally inferior sewing skills now lol

First up, my lovely new lunch tote, complete with reusable sandwich wrapper and snack bag!

Next, my water bottle holder with a water bottle inside! And look at her lovely stitching! It's a seahorse! Cheesy

And last, but certainly not least, a recipe box with a lovely bird stencil on it, and lovely recipe cards inside! I love the colors!

Everything came bundled up so lovely. I wish I thought about those things when I send out. =/ I think that's gonna have to be a new goal of mine. lol

Thank you so much Rachel.

And on a side note, I've lost 6 lbs! Woot!
