41  My Spring Things Shawl in Knitting: Completed Projects by Opalgryphon on: December 26, 2007 09:26:16 AM
Spring Things Shawl by Susan Pierce Lawrence.

I used one skein Lama Mohair by Feza in 014 (Plum) on size 4 needles.

This was my first ever lace project.  I kept making mistakes, and I don't know how to rip back lace...I don't want to lose all those YO's and I think I'd mess it up worse trying to recover them.  Sooooo...mine's not as regular or perfect as the original in the pattern, but I'm damn happy with it Smiley  I seriously doubt anyone will be looking at me that closely anyway!

Edit: oops! Linked to the wrong pattern :p

42  First hat :) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Opalgryphon on: November 25, 2007 10:11:52 PM
Okay, second actually. I got the gauge wrong on the first one.  So...First hat that fits!!

I snagged part of the chart from The Anti Craft, modified it till I liked it and it fit my head.  Used the base hat from Kittyville, but I also modified it to fit my head and to make the ear flaps bigger.  I get coooold darn it!

I used some really cheap crappy yarn and regret it.  Oh well, I'm still happy Smiley

43  Neapolitan Striped Elf Hat/Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by Opalgryphon on: November 25, 2007 09:52:47 PM
I had originally intended to do a cherry blossom intarsia scarf, but after seeing the competition and having several false starts, I decided to have fun and do a project I've been talking about for years.

10ish years ago my grandmother in law photocopied the pattern for me out of a 1970's knitting pattern book. I have absolutely no clue who to give credit to at this point as the book is long gone and all I have is a stained crumpled photocopy.

The dark color is brown btw....I'm not sure why it's showing up so dark in the photos.  Oh well!

44  Monster chalk bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Opalgryphon on: October 28, 2007 09:54:55 PM
They are a bag....even if they're not a purse. They're for holding chalk while rock climbing.  I hope this is in the right place Smiley

I used furry fabric for the outside with light fleece for the inside and the draw string opening.  The opening basically irises in and out with the drawstring to keep the chalk from spilling when not in use.  The eyeballs are white pom-poms sewn on with buttons.

The red one's my hubby's and the purple one is mine!
