Yikes! If I had known this I wouldn't have joined this swap.
Well.........those are the rules and you had to say YES to all of them to be allowed in the swap, I do believe, as they are part of the questionnaire.....so....yeah....It doesn't VERBATIM state you won't get feedback until those conditions are met, but it is implied in the rules...Here they are from page one, additional swap conditions:
Additional Swap Conditions (please choose YES or NO): Note: These are the rules to the swap; if you don't follow these rules (ie: send late without communication, no DC# or receipt or if you send extras), it may be reflected in your feedback. 1. I agree to keep in touch with the organizers and my partner once per week (either through PM or posting in the swap thread): YES/NO 2. I agree to let the organizers and my partner know if I may be sending late: YES/NO 4. I agree to PM the organizers and my partner when I send and when I receive: YES/NO 5. I agree to get a delivery confirmation number (DC#) or for non-US swappers to save the receipt and take a picture of it and the item: YES/NO 6. I agree to send ONLY one tiny thing and NO extras: YES/NO
Nothing there or anywhere on the first page implies that you won't get feedback until you post pictures of what you have received.
it does say:
- You MUST post a picture of your received item in the gallery...because we're all curious little ones Smiley If you don't have access to a camera, please make arrangements with your partner.
I understand that this is supposed to be a "no-stress" swap, but I think I'm doing something wrong. I am stressing myself out like crazy over this one! I keep finalizing my plans, beginning the item, scrapping the item, finalizing new plans, beginning the item.... and on and on. You would think my worth as a human being is being determined based on this one tiny thing... lol (well, kind of lol).
My current plan is to have a OTT mini crafting day Saturday and make my top 3 things. I will then choose my favorite and mail on Monday. That's the plan anyway. Wish me luck or send me valium.
i really want you to know that i am not picky... i have never gotten a swap item i didn't like. i appreciate all crafty items so please don't stress too much!!
it is pretty funny... but i wrapped it kind of weird... no box, just wrapped in a plastic bag and taped with packing tape... the post office lady gave me a VERY weird look when i handed it to her. so i got real worried that they would mark the package for careful inspection or something, lol. and you know they have those dogs that sniff for drugs, and surely the dogs would be able to smell catnip. just my overactive paranoid imagination at work!
holy math! you did a great job. i read your blog, and i personally think it would be ok to post a tutorial. you did all the work of figuring it out, and i think it's a simple enough design that it's been done by other people as well. you took inspiration from the original, but you did do a lot of work. i, however, know nothing about copyright, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me at all.
either way, you did a great job, and your fabric choice is great!
my interpretation of the four inch thing, now that I've moved on to my second idea, is that the main element will be probably considerably less than four inches, and the whole thing will fit into a 4x4 square, even if it's possible to pull it out longer than that
what, are you making a slinky?!
what a good imagination! i just thought she meant something like a necklace... you know, it's much longer than 4 inches but i think it's fair to say that a necklace could still be considered a "tiny" item.
