11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Stuck on an increase on: August 20, 2004 04:01:25 PM
First time poster, sorry if this is in the wrong place.  I'm knitting a toddler cardigan from "Knitting For the First Time" by Vanessa-Ann.  I'm on one of the front pieces and have knitted six inches in garter stitch.  The next step is armhole shaping which I have already successfully completed on the back, but the shaping on the front says: K1, inc 1, k to 1 stitch from the end of the row, inc 1, k1.

If I knit to 1 st from the end of the row, I take that last stitch for the increase and have nothing left to complete the last stitch.

I would greatly appreciate any help, especially if someone has worked this pattern. Perhaps it is an error in the pattern.
