So I'm an uber nerd and most of what I'm knitting is tied in with what I read/watch. These are the first two projects I ever finished(well, finished and didn't mess up in some way) They don't match so I might redo one of them.

My Ginny hat(from GoF) and I was so giddy when it fit cause I literally did like four test runs before being able to alter the original pattern so it fit my head(it kept coming out too small cause I knit really tightly)


My Rose arm warmers(from Doctor Who-Doomsday) Sorry it's so blurry, it'll be a miracle if my hands stop shaking for two seconds. LOVE this pattern, and I was in Urban Outfitters the other day and saw ones that were nearly identical only they were like $18 or something, so I'm now extra excited that I made them myself for a fraction of the price.


And because every picture I took of myself came out way too blurry, here they both are modeled on Harry Potter puppet(such an emo  prima donna, constantly complaining, falling over and smashing everything in my room)

So I'm trying to find a sweater to knit for my sister's birthday and I've been to so many sites and flipped through so many books and magazines that my brain just melted...I know I saw a pattern similar to this but now I feel really dumb cause it seems like such a common pattern and I can't find it

I've been wanting(and trying) to knit this for my sister but can't seem to get past the beginning part of the pattern.

I love the color and yarn. Looks cozy.

So I planned to go as a fairy for Halloween and decided to dye and old dress(originally bubble gum pink) to a more "earthy" color. Only problem is that the dress is silk and tulle and the dyes(I've tried three different brands: Rit Dye, Dylan Cold Dye and Priocion MX Dye) aren't sticking to the fabric and just wash off the material.

Any tips or dyes that I can use that will work on tulle and silk?

Hey everyone! I'm a longtime lurker that finally committed to registering(it looked like too much fun to just look) I'm from Chicago, college student, though I spend time I should be working doing knitting projects or looking up projects to do or spending tuition money on yarn and needles and...yeah, uber excited to have a place to release my obsession.
