1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Where to get Website Templates/or Web Desinger Also name for website on: April 25, 2009 10:07:34 AM
I am rewording this post because I finally made up my mind I am going to sign up with dream host I can't miss out on the great deal they have going on right now, I still need to figure out what the name of my shop will be though. Okay so my question is for those who build there own sites. I really like this website layout  http://www.auctionaddons.com/item_208/Spring-Fling-Website-Template.htm But she will only install the template if you work with one of her hosts and I have no idea how I would go about uploading it on my own. So my question is does anyone know anyone who offers this kind of service or where I could get something similar for close to the same price but would also be willing to work with dream host? Or does someone know how I could upload the template to dream host or a tutorial or something? If not I might just try to build a similar site but would prefer to not.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for a site name I wanted Manta Panda's Creations but think it's a bit long. If I think of anything else I will edit this. I will be selling cute and colorful jewelry made of clay and also made of other charms. I might also add other items such as head bands and barrettes.

Edit ok I tried to do some brain storming but ugghh still not sure but maybe this might give you guys some ideas

Colors of a Rainbow
A Panda Named Manda

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Two Kids Parties in only One week! Please help! on: February 12, 2009 08:45:09 AM
Ok So I was suppose to plan a party for a (Turning) 13 year old girl and boy they are cousins but that was very hard to do as they are so different so we decided to do two separate parties on the same day.

The boy wants a Pokemon themed party he already told me which Pokemon characters he likes so I am making his cake and using the colors green, blue and yellow for balloons and such. I need game or activity ideas or anything else that might help out. I don't think a lot of the people attending will be very interested in Pokemon as they are family some girls and the ages range completely. So it's hard sometimes I would like to have a few Pokemon themed games but maybe just some regular fun games that little kids among big kids can play. The party will be held at his home with not a lot of room. Outside will probably be cold with snow on the ground so not too much we could do outside.

The girls party will be later that night she said she wants the colors to be pink and green. Planing girls parties will be much easier for me. We will start off with a scavenger hunt and have the girls in two teams pink panthers vs green grasshoppers they will have to wear the correct color fabric band somewhere visible tied to their arm etc.. I still need to figure everything out but I plan on having clues leading them around town to pick up and do certain things until the winning team finishes the race me and my boyfriend will be the drivers for the teams. After that we will be going to a hotel room for a sleepover party (All Girls). I was thinking about doing some spa type stuff but not sure what would work out? Face Masks? Manicures? Some of the girls will be very young though age 7 till age 15 they are mostly all family. I have some games planed like spoons, uno, twister, singstar. I was thinking about having them do some kind of craft but not exactly sure like decorating tee shirts or making some kind of spa product but I thought that might be hard to get or expensive. Maybe make jewelry? Oh yes and there will be about 7 or 6 girls attending and I will have two adult helpers.

The party is on the 21st so I don't have much time and can't order anything online. So homemade stuff would be great!

Hope you can help! I would love to hear any feedback.  Grin
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Punk (Glow in the Dark) Party for Boys and Girls Need Help (Edited) on: December 01, 2008 06:59:57 PM
Ok So I am helping again with a birthday party as my boyfriend has alot of nieces and nephes. This time it is for A boy and girl who are both turning 13 they both came up with the idea of Punk Princess/Prince. There probably will be about 20 or so kids ages from 3-15 and parents. It will be held indoors and will be in Feb or March which is inbetween the two birthdays.

I came up with the idea of it being like a black out in the party room (no lights) with a few black lights and neon/glow in the dark things. They love this idea.

To keep with the punk theme I was going to have the kids help make graphitti for the walls using large paper and let them paint skulls sayings or whatever they like I will leave that dry and then the day of the party we can hang it up in the party room and hopefully the designs will glow.

I was going to hand out glow neclaces and braclettes. On the table have glow in the dark stars.

Oh yes the color theme is to be black and pink (Chosen by the girl) but other neon clolors will probably be added.

So I would really like any other ideas that would go with this theme.

They said they want some "punk" games but I don't have a clue what to do?

The only thing I thought about was maybe using glow in the dark paint pens to desing t-shirts or something I saw them on orinetal trading?

Ok thanks for reading and I hope this question is more clear now.  Grin

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / "Rebel In a Box" Need Ideas on: November 15, 2008 09:14:18 PM
I posted this in the box section but not sure if most people read it because it's soooo long so I posted here I hope that is alright.

So what I want to make is a "Rebel in a Box" I was going to call it "Greaser in a Box" But I think I like this name better.

It's for my boyfriend who loves "The Outsiders" I swear he wishes he was a Greaser himself and wears a leather jacket all the time.

So I thought that Rebel in a Box would be the perfect theme for him.

This is what I have came up with so far:
-Comb
-Pomode (Or Hair Product)
-Knife
-Model Car (Because Greasers like Cars)
-Fake Tatoos

I was thinking about take some pictures of myself as a girl greaser but not sure what they would look like so ideas on this would also be great!

Hope you guys have some ideas  Grin

BTW it dosn't have to be just about Greasers but about Rebels in general also.
5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Party in a Box?? on: July 24, 2008 03:01:25 PM
I really would love to have a party planning business for children but right now I don't have the money to do everything and have the legal paper works and such to start it up.

So I thought that something I could also do is parties in a box. I would provide everything needed for a childrens party in a box. There are other websites out there doing this sort of thing but they only provide cups, plates, talbe cloths and maybe favors.

I would Provide:
Invitations (Send them out if they choose)
Cups
Plates
Napkins
Silverwear
Table Cover
Balloons
Streamers
Other Decorations
Props
Games/Activities
Favors
Special Hat/Gift for Birthday Child
Party Guide Book
Thank You Notes

So Basicly All you would have to provide is the cake/food.

I wanted to make some of the items and also buy others but overall make a fun and impressive party that isn't just a cartoon character on your plates/napkins.

I think this would be great for parents who don't have the time to plan all the details of the party and those who don't want to go from store to store to buy all the items they need.

I would like to offer themes but also open to custom make a party box to fit the childs interest.

I would love to hear some feedback!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Boyfriends Surprise 21st Birthday Party (Paint Ball) on: February 28, 2008 10:46:42 AM
My boyfriend is Turning 21 April 2 and I am hoping to get this place to do paint ball and have his party at. I am going to try to keep it a surprise for him but that might be hard. The place looks pretty cool and it will out doors of corse.. what I was going to say is I think there is going to be a tent area that we can sit and eat and stuff I was wondering if you think I should attempt to decorate it and if so how? The only things I can think of are camo and paint splaters.. maybe I should just keep it low key.. If you guys have any ideas on inviations or other things to do? It's probably going to be mostly guys but I am bringing along atleast one of my friends so I won't be the only girl there. Thanks!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Happy Bunny Land 19th Birthday Party Ideas on: February 25, 2008 10:53:15 AM
Ok For my Birthday this year I am not sure what to do My Party is in August and I was first thinking about doing it in a Alice in Wonderland theme. I Know a building that I always have partys at and its a very nice place the only thing is that there is not too much to do in a building but have music to dance to and food. But as for decorations I it would be easy to deocrate in a building... So If I have the Party indoors I was thinking about decorating it in a sort of Alice in Wonderland Inspired Decor like almost a whole new strange land... Things I though of doing is making things in rainbow colors have alot of fake and real flowers around butterflys, stuffed animals, random cards haning from the celling... hearts, stars I wanted to put some strange random things in it too.. then have cookies/cupcakes that say eat me.. etc... But if I do have it indoors I am not sure what to do as entertainment most of my friend are the same age as me or a little younger or a little older.. Well one thing I thought about doing was making our own little talent show not sure if my friends will go for it but I thought it would be funny to watch our friends sing, dance, and do random stunts they could do what they really wanted to do at the talent shows/Variety Show but were to scared to do..

The other thought was to have the party at a differnt location like outdoors but I am not sure where I could have it yet there are a few parks around but if I found a place with a pool or water plus somewhere to party that might be alot more entertainment. But the problem with this is I am not sure of a location because I really don't want to have it at a public pool or I don't want to have to travel a long distance.. Also I am not sure how I could decorate with the theme I had in mind outdoors...

Any Ideas would be Appreciated!!

The whole goal is that when my friends see it they are like UHH what?? But I also want to keep a cutesy side to it since that is something I love..

-So let me know which location you think would be best..
-Any entertainment Ideas
-Any Decorations Ideas
-What you like/Don't like
-Anything Else

Thanks!  Grin
8  COOKING / Dessert / Help with Mini Cake and Cup Cakes on: February 04, 2008 09:07:52 AM
I don't make fancy cakes but I am hosting a Birthday Party for a girl who is turning 12 and I already have the theme which is going to be pink, black, silve and stars (Pink and Black are her favorite colors) I wanted to make her a small cake maybe two layers but just a tiny one and put her name on it I also wanted to make cupcakes.

I found this cake on flickr and I really like it's size and color, I was wondering if anyone knows how these cakes are made to get the icing so smooth?
I just saw that it said MMF with scrolled inpression Fondant how can I make/get Fondant, sorry I am completely not upto date with this cake stuff.

I also found these cupcakes, I was thinking about making them with light pink icing and then hot pinkish clear edible glitter on top of that and then making the tags with T for Tara only making them into a star shape.

So if you guys can help me out and let me know what I need and anyideas how to decorate the cakes/how to do all this I would appreciate it. The party is on the 15th!

Hi I am planning a Birthday Party for my Boyfriends 12 year old niece because she has never had a party with her friends and I love doing this kind of thing. The theme is Black and Pink her Favorite colors, and we are going to have the girls get together like an hour before the party to have like a beauty spa thing where they get their nails done and hair by my friend who went tos school for cosmotology and I might help a little bit on what I can. Then when eveyone comes we are going to play Dance Revolution, Sing Star, Sharades, Twister, Red Rover and other games. Then I guess Dance or whatever else they want to do.

Anys for the decorations I already know Pink and Black Balloons, Possibly a Balloon Arch if I can figure out how to do it. Black table cloth with silver stars on it. Pink Cups, Plates, Napkins. Now I really need help on the center pieces. I have one idea which is a vase and pink flowers but I can't think of anything else. Please help me out there are going to be I think 5 or 4 round tables and I  didn't want them to all look the same but I wanted them to kind of tie together. Also any other decoration idea would be great!

Thanks  Grin
