1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Where to get Website Templates/or Web Desinger Also name for website on: April 25, 2009 10:07:34 AM
I am rewording this post because I finally made up my mind I am going to sign up with dream host I can't miss out on the great deal they have going on right now, I still need to figure out what the name of my shop will be though. Okay so my question is for those who build there own sites. I really like this website layout  http://www.auctionaddons.com/item_208/Spring-Fling-Website-Template.htm But she will only install the template if you work with one of her hosts and I have no idea how I would go about uploading it on my own. So my question is does anyone know anyone who offers this kind of service or where I could get something similar for close to the same price but would also be willing to work with dream host? Or does someone know how I could upload the template to dream host or a tutorial or something? If not I might just try to build a similar site but would prefer to not.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for a site name I wanted Manta Panda's Creations but think it's a bit long. If I think of anything else I will edit this. I will be selling cute and colorful jewelry made of clay and also made of other charms. I might also add other items such as head bands and barrettes.

Edit ok I tried to do some brain storming but ugghh still not sure but maybe this might give you guys some ideas

Colors of the Wind
Colors of a Rainbow
A Panda Named Manda
Blissful Creations
Manta's Kawaii Creations
Manta's True Colors
Pickled Panda
Tickled Pink

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Gossip Girl Party? on: March 28, 2009 12:37:07 PM
Hi, I am a fan of Gossip Girl too. I read the books before the show came out so I feel the books are the "real deal", but I also like the show also. They are very different though! Well I think you should have a party like they would on the show have everyone wear fancy attire play music from the show. Maybe have someone dress up as a maid and serve appetizers. As for games idk maybe have a triva about the show or something.

Ok I didn't have alot of ideas but hope that got you thinking.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Two Kids Parties in only One week! Please help! on: February 14, 2009 06:55:00 AM
Thanks for the ideas. I did a search for Pokemon parties so I got a few ideas from there. The video game idea sounds like something he would enjoy and I wouldn't have thought about that but not sure if the kids would be willing to share and take turns lol
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Two Kids Parties in only One week! Please help! on: February 12, 2009 08:45:09 AM
Ok So I was suppose to plan a party for a (Turning) 13 year old girl and boy they are cousins but that was very hard to do as they are so different so we decided to do two separate parties on the same day.

The boy wants a Pokemon themed party he already told me which Pokemon characters he likes so I am making his cake and using the colors green, blue and yellow for balloons and such. I need game or activity ideas or anything else that might help out. I don't think a lot of the people attending will be very interested in Pokemon as they are family some girls and the ages range completely. So it's hard sometimes I would like to have a few Pokemon themed games but maybe just some regular fun games that little kids among big kids can play. The party will be held at his home with not a lot of room. Outside will probably be cold with snow on the ground so not too much we could do outside.

The girls party will be later that night she said she wants the colors to be pink and green. Planing girls parties will be much easier for me. We will start off with a scavenger hunt and have the girls in two teams pink panthers vs green grasshoppers they will have to wear the correct color fabric band somewhere visible tied to their arm etc.. I still need to figure everything out but I plan on having clues leading them around town to pick up and do certain things until the winning team finishes the race me and my boyfriend will be the drivers for the teams. After that we will be going to a hotel room for a sleepover party (All Girls). I was thinking about doing some spa type stuff but not sure what would work out? Face Masks? Manicures? Some of the girls will be very young though age 7 till age 15 they are mostly all family. I have some games planed like spoons, uno, twister, singstar. I was thinking about having them do some kind of craft but not exactly sure like decorating tee shirts or making some kind of spa product but I thought that might be hard to get or expensive. Maybe make jewelry? Oh yes and there will be about 7 or 6 girls attending and I will have two adult helpers.

The party is on the 21st so I don't have much time and can't order anything online. So homemade stuff would be great!

Hope you can help! I would love to hear any feedback.  Grin

I am also planing a party for a 13 year old girl and 13 year old boy. Wish I could do all these girly things!

Well for game ideas what about Charades, Twister, Spoons (This is so much fun!), and the Chocolate Game

SPOONS:
http://www.ehow.com/how_4480581_play-spoons.html

Chocolate Game:
You need a chocolate bar, Dice, Clothes like a hat, glove and shirt you can use whatever you would like and a knife.

Everyone must stand around the table and roll the dice once someone rolls double sixes they must hurry and put on all the clothes and cut out one square of chocolate with the knife and if the succeed they maybe eat that piece of chocolate and then continue to cut another piece. In the mean time all the other players are rolling the dice and if they happen to get two sixes they must trade places with that person put on the clothes and try to cut the chocolate.

I think the movie is perfect I love that movie myself lol. I think I seen a party theme aroud that movie before.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Punk (Glow in the Dark) Party for Boys and Girls Need Help (Edited) on: December 01, 2008 06:59:57 PM
Ok So I am helping again with a birthday party as my boyfriend has alot of nieces and nephes. This time it is for A boy and girl who are both turning 13 they both came up with the idea of Punk Princess/Prince. There probably will be about 20 or so kids ages from 3-15 and parents. It will be held indoors and will be in Feb or March which is inbetween the two birthdays.

I came up with the idea of it being like a black out in the party room (no lights) with a few black lights and neon/glow in the dark things. They love this idea.

To keep with the punk theme I was going to have the kids help make graphitti for the walls using large paper and let them paint skulls sayings or whatever they like I will leave that dry and then the day of the party we can hang it up in the party room and hopefully the designs will glow.

I was going to hand out glow neclaces and braclettes. On the table have glow in the dark stars.

Oh yes the color theme is to be black and pink (Chosen by the girl) but other neon clolors will probably be added.

So I would really like any other ideas that would go with this theme.

They said they want some "punk" games but I don't have a clue what to do?

The only thing I thought about was maybe using glow in the dark paint pens to desing t-shirts or something I saw them on orinetal trading?

Ok thanks for reading and I hope this question is more clear now.  Grin

The only thing I can think of right now could be to maybe make a notebook/journal or whatever and use your pictures for that

Or you could maybe decapodge a smooth stone with the picture on it and he could use it as a paper weight

Ok sorry probably not the greatest ideas but I am so sleepy right now and I figured I would say something since no one else did yet
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / "Rebel In a Box" Need Ideas on: November 15, 2008 09:14:18 PM
I posted this in the box section but not sure if most people read it because it's soooo long so I posted here I hope that is alright.

So what I want to make is a "Rebel in a Box" I was going to call it "Greaser in a Box" But I think I like this name better.

It's for my boyfriend who loves "The Outsiders" I swear he wishes he was a Greaser himself and wears a leather jacket all the time.

So I thought that Rebel in a Box would be the perfect theme for him.

This is what I have came up with so far:
-Comb
-Pomode (Or Hair Product)
-Knife
-Model Car (Because Greasers like Cars)
-Fake Tatoos

I was thinking about take some pictures of myself as a girl greaser but not sure what they would look like so ideas on this would also be great!

Hope you guys have some ideas  Grin

BTW it dosn't have to be just about Greasers but about Rebels in general also.
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: November 15, 2008 10:58:56 AM
I tried reading through all these post but only got to page 24 so not sure if this is already posted or not but I thought I would really like to make a Box for my boyfried for Christmas.

He is into 80's music, Ratt, Skid Row, Quite Riot,

He loves the Books: Outsiders, Tex and all those by S.E. Hinton

I think he wishes he was back in the day he wears a leather jacket and wants to get a jean jacket to cut the sleves off to wear over top of it. I was going to try to find one to include in the box.

So basicly I wanted to do something that had to do with that

Maybe "
"Gresser in a Box"
"80's in a Box" I saw they posted this but it was mostly girly things
"Hair Band in a Box"?

I need help on what to call it and what to put inside hope you guys can help me out.  Grin

I will add some more things If I can think of anything else he likes..

Ok I decided I really wanted to go witht he greaser in a box idea! To be honest I don't really remeber alot about the book "The Outsiders" so if anyone does remember it and has idea please let me know.

This I have came up with
-Comb
-Pomade (Or Hair Product)
-Favorite Model Car (Because Greasers like cars)
-Fake Tatoos
-Knife

I was also thinking of dressing up like one of the characters and giving him a photo of me or dress as a girl greaser not sure how to do this though..

So please help me out if you guys have anymore ideas!  Grin
