Portrait embroidered with cotton, silk, and linen floss on a repurposed USAF dress blues shirt. Measures 11" by 14".

Mikhail Kalashnikov invented the AK47.  As a military wife in the middle of an agonizingly long war, I have worked on military themed art for the last few years.  I know I should put this is Needlework, but I have worked for years to transcend craft and create fine art with the medium.  I hope you'll let me stay.

My latest in The Promise of Pills series.  I used cotton and rayon floss on a traditional linen tea towel.  The image is approx 10" by 4".  I have always loved the sleepy eye on Rx bottle stickers.  I blogged about it if you're interested in the idea behind it.  30 or more shades of floss.

My biggest concern was trying to get stitching to look like painting--gestural and complex.  I am crazy excited about this project.

I've never posted to the weaving board before, so I thought I'd just put everything in one post.

The purple and white blanket is handspun.

The red and brown blanket is 4ft by 8 ft.

The hot pink thing is a scarf for my stepdaughter.

The pillow was a gift to my husband for our cottton anniversary.
