1  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Anyone in Trowbridge or wilshire in general? on: September 29, 2009 09:49:07 PM

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First ever sock on: September 29, 2009 07:24:11 PM
This was my first sock. I only made 1 because there were many many mistakes and it turned out too small for me. It was my first time ever using a pattern, using DPNs and doing anything more than a basic 1 colour scarf. I kind of threw myself into it and just hoped for the best and tried to learn from the mistakes I made. I found the pattern somewhere online, it was just a beginners socks pattern.

I'm now being a bit mad and attempting these http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dalek-socks, first time using more than one colour and following a chart... rather scary!

4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Steel toe Dr Martens on: February 26, 2009 04:08:07 PM
So, I have a pair of steel toe Dr martens boots, They are exactly the same as the regular ones just with the steel plate in the toe.

I had to get them for when we were soldering in college (they were actually cheaper than regular docs... and mummy paid because I needed them! hurrah!) but now I dont wear them because they are VERY VERY heavy.

So I was wondering if there would be a way to remove the steel toe? Has anyone attempted this before or know of anywhere that would tell me how to do this?

Thankyou.

All the ones I have found so far are save the date cards and as I dont plan on getting married for a few years thats not really suitable. Does anyone know of any places I can get some? I designs/ideas/wording for me to make my own?

Thanks, Zoe x

10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Dairy free desserts on: July 15, 2008 05:40:54 AM
I've recently been diagnosed with gallstones and while I'm waiting for my opperation I have to avoid Dairy and foods with a high amount of saturated fat in them as they  need to be processed by the gallbladder which makes it more inflammed. Im having a birthday bbq this weekend (was meant to be on the 6th but I was in hospital at the time) and Im meant to be making a yummy dessert.

So please, does anyone have any recipes for desserts I could eat that would really impress my family? I was going to make tarte au citron and a pavlova but they both need cream Sad
