That's AWESOME. I wish I could fully clothe myself in kitchen towels. However, I would not look as darling as your 5 year old daughter. Cupcakes just don't work for 23 year olds  Grin

That's awesome. Your scarf and the fact that you didn't dress yourself because craftster was calling your name. I think you've arrived at true crafting, when it consumes your every moment, over bathing, dressing, cleaning, feeding your children/husband/pets.  Congrats !

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Mr. Monkey on: February 13, 2008 06:22:52 AM
Thanks everyone. He was the first sock monkey I've ever made, so he turned out a little 'off'. But I think most ninja monkeys are a little 'off' so it works.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mr. Monkey on: February 12, 2008 09:01:14 PM
I've recently discovered sock monkeys. There is nothing better than rummaging through thrift stores, looking for materials for my latest projects. I found some great socks [I washed them of course] and several vintage buttons. For about 4 bucks, I have enough materials to make several monkeys. When my husband was a small child, he had a stuffed monkey, he called him Mr. Bim. The love of a childhood toy is something that is never forgotten. Mr. Bim is long gone, as are most childhood toys. So for Valentine's Day, I made him this monkey. Nothing expensive, but more sentimental.

This project is extremely forgiving. My kind of project.

Ignore his large tail. He was born with it.

He turned out to be a ninja monkey. His red headband is the toe seam from the sock. I think it adds to his personality.
