2  Re: Love for Elvis or Marilyn Monroe swap gallery EXTENDED SEND OUT DATE TO SEPT 5 in The Swap Gallery by rosesanplacebos on: September 14, 2008 09:16:40 PM
So my partner Damara received a while ago, but she's super busy and only has internet access at work making posting pictures a little difficult!
But apparently I don't get feedback until pictures are posted...
So if you don't mind Damara I have a couple crappy pictures that I will share until you have a chance to post better ones =)

First i made this shrinky dink bookmark [three seperate pieces linked together]

Also accompanied by a handpainted trinket box of Marilyn [she preferred Marilyn stuff to Elvis]

Another shrinky dink piece of magic; famous Marilyn stencil keychain

And lastly a handpainted tote. Note the image was one I found from the internet; I did not create the cartoon merely freehanded it.

Not pictured: a set of magnets which were heart shaped diamonds, a Hollywood movie set featuring Marilyn among others, and a handful of fake baling bling. =)

Alright guys. Sorry it took me so long to post pictures of Tangelos package. I kept trying to upload the pictures, but craftster wouldn't let me suddenly and then I just forgot. =(
But thats why we have amazing organizers who continuously remind me! Haha [thanks babalina!]
And guess what; they worked this time yay!
So without further aduuuuuu: get your wist button ready! [seriously dont mind the horrible pictures. i was using a camera im not familiar with and completely sucked at getting things...well not blurry!]

First are these wonderful pillows, which I might add my dog has ungraciously claimed for his own.
Seriously guys, these are amazing! The faces are made of felt and are gorgeous.

Then this awesome apron with marilyn embroidered on. And its one of my favorite images. I tried to get a close up of the stitching but apparently it wasn't possible with the camera I was using =/

Next are these awesome shrinky dink elvis earrings. omfg they rock. I've worn them a hundred times already. And everyone loves them!!

And last a really cool headband in elvis fabric. Thanks Tangelo! This swap was way fun, and thanks to our organizers especially!

5  Harry Potter Hair Sticks in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by rosesanplacebos on: July 18, 2008 11:21:07 PM
Made for Tasket.Basket for a recent Harry Potter Swap.
Unfortunately I also lost the images to this project so I am borrowing her shots! =D

Hair sticks in the form of a wand and a broom stick.
Subtle geek =D

Started out life as chop sticks. After carving, sanding, staining, sealing, hot glueing and painting came:

6  Hungarian Horntail in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by rosesanplacebos on: July 18, 2008 08:52:06 AM
This painting was done on a canvas bag for a recent Harry Potter Swap for my partner Tasket.Basket. Acrylic paints mixed with textile medium and sealed with flexible varnish.
Gallery link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=249502.0

[trying to remember the size of the bag] I believe it was 15" across and stretched an extra 2-3" around the back with the wingspan.
And because I lost some of my pictures for this I borrowed some that my partner so graciously took for me! =D
The whole bag:
The Sides:

TIPS WOULD BE WONDERFUL! I usually only paint surreal/abstract so this was COMPLETELY new experience for me!

Alright my amazing package from tasket.basket!
First off was this gorgeous scarf with matching brooches. Seriously guys this is professionally quality its SUPER long [I posted a picture of it before of me wearing it], extremely wide and sooo comfy. I love it so much and cannot wait until winter to properly show it off! She even made it in Gryfindor colors for me! =D

Next was this BEAUTIFUL [and huge!] tote bag with ribbon detail in house colors, as well as DEEP inside pockets lined with the house colors [6 pockets total].

Inside the pockets were...4 large tote bags with matching lining in the house colors!! These things are very spacious! I've been using them everyday to transport everything instead of a purse! =D

The kicker inside the tote: [in the last two inside pockets] were produce bags!!! I'm so incredibly excited for these!! Each is lined with ribbon in the house colors!! Can you believe how much this woman wisted me??

In the outside pocket of the tote [I know it just keeps going right?] Were these four coasters, again in house colors! I cannot wait to use these! I'm moving soon and its all the little things I would never think of that I need!! I believe these were created by tasket.baskets son! =D

Next was a fun little bag filled with lots of goodies! =D First dish cloths which correct me if I am wrong, but were made by tasket.baskets daughter? They are so beautiful I'd hate to use them!

Also in the bag was a bag of coffee from a local shop-cannot wait to try! As well as some Jasmine tea to try! =D I also got a cup cozy in gryfindor colors AND a tea wallet in my favorite color combo! [green and pink!] Seriously wisted beyond belief!!

AND a tea cup scrubber. Yea tres awesome. Again in my favorite color combo, entwined with scrubbing material!! How cool. I'm in love. =D

And last in the bag was this wonderful tea cup pincushion [Hermiones of course!] totally wisted. I love it!!!

And the most hilarious, and definitely [besides the bags] the most used so far, OBAMA pins! =D

How awesome right? Omg thank you so much tasket.basket this package was truely amazing!!!

Ok so first off I want to apologize to my partner tasket.basket.
I recieved THE most amazing package today and I can't take any pictures of it.
Well I can, and have tried but I hurt my wrist yesterday [and I'm a photographer!!] so it will be a day or two before I post decent pictures-BUT I promise to do so.
However as a teaser here is a picture of me [that my mom took] in the most incredible scarf EVER.
Seriously guys, this woman BEYOND stalked me, she made everything in my wist!!
Tasket.basket THANK YOU. You were an incredible swapper and I was gasping for air at seeing your package! My mom was in disblief and has tried stealing everything!! I cannot thank you enough!!
Of course you can post pictures if you wish, though I promise to post them if not tomorrow then Sunday for sure!!
I can't even name everything her and her kids made for me! A HUGE tote bag filled with MORE tote bags &&&produce bags! Everything from tea, to a tea WALLET/POUCH to a tea cup pincushion! Just amazing guys wait until you see these pictures!

Me and my dog modeling the MAGNIFICENT scarf by the fireplace of course. Notice my gimp hand?

9  Re: I Miss Harry Potter Swap CLOSED (sendout EXTENDED to 7/10) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by rosesanplacebos on: July 01, 2008 09:37:04 PM
First off I'm just going to say I'm an idiot and forgot to properly attach something so I attatched it the complete outside of the package [sorrry!]
BUT, most importantly---I FINISHED! Yay. I will be mailing tomorrow [um, sometime].
Soooo just because I can....a teaser for tasket.basket! [enjoy]
Everything. Well except one thing + the thing I forgot to attach which I didn't remember until after I took this picture.

Alright, well my partner, Mollimoo still hasn't posted what I sent her so I'm going to attempt to do so.
I say attempt because I have somehow managed to lose all the pictures. [And the ones I CAN find, keep literally jumping folders].
Anyway here is a IN PROGRESS shot of a duct tape wallet I painted of Yuki

Unfortunately the rest I can find are cell phone pix so please excuse the poor quality once again.
This was a bookmark I painted of a preg test complete with yellow string and yellow beads [use your imagination there =D]

These are "Pie Balls" set of magnets, earrings and a necklace [burnt crust pieces are the jewelry]

And the last thing I have a picture of is the "pork sword" necklace. Yes yes clay 'pork' with a sword going through it. =D

Has two hooks for a chain [which i unfortunately forgot to send]
I also made a set of juno themed cards but forgot to take pictures of them.
PLEASE post better pictures if you get the chance molliemoo. hope you liked everything! =) I had so much fun doing this swap, especially since it was my first!
