1  Consternation (cute bebe photos) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by staciey on: January 10, 2010 03:41:09 PM

This is my cousin Rogan. He's deep in thought.

Happy thoughts, apparently!

2  Some Shrinky Dink Itemz in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by staciey on: July 05, 2009 05:56:38 PM

Group shot. Clockwise from cupcake (which is a ring): two fused pendants made by layering shrunken punch-outs from a regular paper punch on top of a square of shrunken plastic. An oversized owl ring. A fused rainbow pendant, just shrunken rainbow colored strips layered on a shrunken rectangle. A fused zebra stripe pendant, this one is my favorite, the stripes were just shrunk and layered on the shrunken white rectangle. And last but not least, a Goomba ring.

A close up on the zebra ring (try to ignore the pencil lines, I didn't even notice them until now!).

And look - LOOK at this travesty! I almost can't bear to speak of it. But I must.

I traced the JBs crest onto plain white shrink plastic, cut it out, and then traced that shape onto a piece of Ruff'n'Ready which I also cut out. I shrunk both pieces separately, and once they were done I layered the clear one rough side down onto the white piece, which had the design facing up. Then I tried to fuse them. That's where everything went awry! I turned the toaster oven up to 450, which is the temperature for fusing, is it not? I had the piece in there for about two minutes when it started to smoke and turned brown and ugly. It was a very sad disaster, and I don't know how I'm supposed to avoid it in the future! Any ideas?

3  Filigree JB and HP Rings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by staciey on: July 05, 2009 05:47:35 PM

I made these two rings to pay homage to the things I love. I just printed out the Jonas Brothers and Gryffindor crests on regular old printer paper (after I played around with layers and antiqued them a bit), cut them out, and slapped 'em into the cabochon-esque things I bought on Etsy with some Mod Podge. I also slathered a pretty generous coat of Mod Podge on the top of the paper once they were in there to seal things off. Then I put a bunch of coats of acrylic glaze to make them shiny and protected, glued them suckas to ring blanks and there you have it. Let me know what y'all think.

P.S. - I went to a Jonas Brothers concert on Thursday. IT BLEW MY DAMN MIND!! There were three people plus an irritable security guard between me and the JBs, not to mention that they put on an amazing show. INSANE! Oh yeah, and my tickets were a fricken steal.

4  Dandelion Photos (tons of slow loading images!) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by staciey on: June 19, 2009 10:43:28 AM
Some photos of dandelions I took with my Canon Rebel XS. Admittedly, dandelions aren't the most original subject but the dogs wouldn't let me take pictures of them, so there you have it. Plus, they're fun to use to play around with focus and light.
Without further ado:

YAY I got my package from k-roc in the mail today!!!
I'm just really happy with all of it, thank you so much!

First of all, everything was wrapped up in tissue paper, which was cute
The first thing I unwrapped was this ADORABLE AMIGURUMI TOMATO!

It made me say "HAHA AWE!"

Next, was this gorgeous hat

It's quite soft, and I love the little apple buttons!

Then lastly, there's THIS beauty

When I opened it up I first saw the cute bunnies, and just though "oh, what adorable bunnies!". But then I saw Frank, and I lol'd.
The detail is really quite amazing (sorry it's sideways)

So, thank you so much k-roc!
Also, if you want I could post my pictures of the stuff I sent you so that you don't have to take it off haha.
Oh yeah and if the pictures in this post don't work, I'm not surprised. Both photobucket and craftster photo hosting were giving me grief.

8  Felt iPod socks (6 pictures) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by staciey on: July 18, 2008 03:47:12 PM
I bought some felt a few days ago and made some iPod cases:

^An unoriginal monster.

^A doggie. Or a bear. It's open for interpretation.

^A crazy guy.

^A dragon. (If you have any suggestions on how to make his face more dragon-like, I'd appreciate them)

^The back of the dragon.

^A panda.
They're made for my 2nd generation iPod nano, and they have velcro on the lip thing to close them.
Thanks for looking!

9  Gumball Bracelet in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by staciey on: July 18, 2008 03:23:39 PM

I apologize for the blurry picture, my camera was being bitchy.
Anyways, it's made out of polymer. It was hard to get the colors to match real gumballs, hard to make them stay round while I cooked them, and hard to get an even layer of gloss. Putting them on the elastic was easy, though.
I think it's cute and if I can figure out a way to get the gloss less gloppy, I'm going to make another one!

10  Stars and hearts bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by staciey on: July 11, 2008 05:23:35 PM
This is my first post on the jewelry board, how exciting!
I got this beading kit for my birthday from my aunt a long time ago, and just decided to make something yesterday. It's not something I would normally wear and I made it small to fit my puny wrists, so I can't really give it to anybody. Oh well, it's kind of pretty.
