You officially win at life.
Love them. Cheesy Be sure to post pictures when you paint them!
1182  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / First try at what I call "wire wrapping" - with a GEEKY twist... on: November 05, 2007 10:53:09 AM
Again, many apologies for the blurry pictures. I couldn't stop sniffling while I was taking the pictures due to my cold.

This is my first try at what I guess you could call "wire wrapping" - I'm not sure if there's a method to "real" wrapping or anything, but I figured it was as good of a name for this as any.

The D-20 is from a "free" bin at a garage sale, and the bead below it is a purple crystal.
The chain is just some cheap thing from Claire's.

EDITED to add better, less-blurry photos. Cheesy

What do you think?
1183  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Adult swap on: November 01, 2007 06:45:11 PM
I don't know if anyone is still interested in doing this, but I would SO be in.
1184  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: "The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things..." on: October 31, 2007 11:27:11 AM
Definitely adorable. I love it.
That's so original too! I haven't seen a walrus costume until now.
1185  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Tetris Costumes--dang--if only I thought of that... on: October 29, 2007 06:58:29 PM
Oh, that is so completely awesome.
I can see this being great at a cosplay con... Cheesy Love it!
1186  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / From guitar picks to Catholic saints - this post has it all! on: October 29, 2007 06:53:35 PM
I made earrings...while I was supposed to be doing homework! Smiley

Hot Topic "Rock The Arts" guitar picks, Catholic saint medals, and Starburst wrappers...

...and glow-in-the-dark stars (that a DRAG QUEEN complimented me on!) and an old cell phone charm (I wanted to put this on an ear cuff, but I haven't found any with a loop to connect it to...).

A close-up of the guitar picks. As soon as I saw them by the register, I knew that they would become earrings when they got home. At .50 each, they were completely worth it.

A close-up of my favorites, the Catholic saint medals. One is St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes, and the other is St. Joan of Arc, the patron saint of those who have been opposed by the church.

I hope you like them as much as I do!
I apologize for the blurry pictures, by the way - best I could do with my cruddy little camera.
Suggestions/comments are always welcome!

1187  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: I need suggestions on how to make a Valkyrie Skirt... on: October 25, 2007 04:53:04 PM
Oh my goodness, I never thought of foam! Thank you so much! I will have to try that. The brads are a great idea too, and the fact that it will be made out of foam means that if someone runs into it they shouldn't hurt themselves too much. Smiley Love it.

I'm just wondering about how to attach them to my legs now...
1188  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: A few things I made *img heavy* on: October 25, 2007 04:36:10 PM
Bloo is pretty amazing. Cheesy

I would sell my soul (okay, not my soul - something less valuable, but still) for the ability to fold cranes that small. I've tried it. Doesn't work for me. Nevertheless, yours are beautiful.

Very cool! I bet the texture on them is quite interesting...
