11  Re: The Givers and Needers Swap Round 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by instantkarma on: April 17, 2008 03:07:13 PM
So, here's what I received from the lovely Jennickell:

The only things in that picture that did not come from here is the stack of clothes underneath the crochet books (charity donation) and the two random shopping bags at the top of the photo. I live in a dorm - forgive the mess!

Here are all of the rest of the cards I got:

"I tell lies to make my life sound more interesting"
Back reads: "Sometimes I can't remember what was real and what I made up, mainly because everyone seems to believe me."

"I only dated you because you were a senior and I wanted to go to prom!"
Back reads: "Too bad you were a dick! I might have had a nice time."

"For a long time I have looked at guys [sic] crotches to see if I can tell how big his is."

"Last weekend I smoked marijuana and got SHITFACED with one of my RAs!"

And, the last one I received:

"I like bum sex! ... I hope I did not offend any bums or bum sympathizers with my drawing. But really, who doesn't love some bum humor?"

13  Re: Adults Only Swap :: Round Three (mature content ahead!) in The Swap Gallery by instantkarma on: April 07, 2008 01:05:57 PM
Okay, guys, prepare to be wowed. I received from the_christine a week or so ago, and these are the amazing things I was blessed with:

When I first opened the huge box I was sent, this little Craftman tool box (much to my boyfriend's chagrin - he works for Sears) was looking at me. I was slightly confused and wondered if the_christine got her swaps confused with each other.  Roll Eyes

However, I opened up the box and found that the top lid was completely covered in what appears to be origami paper of some sort.

It does have that type of design, doesn't it?

There is a little tray-type of thing that you can pull off of the top of the inside of the box, which cleverly hides the sexy paper that decorates the inside of the box. Cheesy

The letter inside the box, which explains, among other things, that she thought the box would be great for hiding my toys and such since I live with my boyfriend's folks (it is) and that knitted condoms are for novelty use only...more on that later.

The top shot is a picture of the nifty packaging for the bottom item - a little lock. I'm unsure of what I will do with it right now, but I do love the tiny little detailing.

The top two shots are of the top and side of a tin that she sent me - the top has an octopus-looking guy on it, which is a silly nod to a popular kind of hentai that I find amusing and disturbing at the same time. The side says "safe sex is good sex" - I'm a huge advocate for that type of thing. The bottom picture is what was inside the box - a little knit condom...

...which I promptly put on my penis. Cheesy

This is a little knit bag that says "I <3 MY CUNT" (a nod to my feminist side, I think?) with a cool little pocket on the inside. I'm not sure what I will use it for as of yet, but I think it might be a good place for my money, phone, and whatnot when I'm out at art fairs and such during the summer. I love this bag so much - you have no idea how much I love it. I just need to find the perfect use for it! Cheesy

Another awesome bag with embroidery of people on it - this was put to use over the weekend holding some emergency sewing supplies for a trip I was on.

The last thing I got is also the most informative - the Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex (I'm a deviant, I know!). I asked for some information on different positions and such that could be used for anal and the_christine sent me this book with, well, everything I had ever possibly wanted to know about anal sex but had no one to ask. I haven't had a chance to really sit down with this book (it's not exactly a good dinnertime read, methinks) but I plan on sitting down with my boy and reading through it together. It's awesome.

Thank you SO much, the_christine. You really spoiled me with so many great crafts...and you made me totally nervous that my crafts are SO not going to live up to this type of greatness. Tongue Wink

Here are the three I recieved:

"I didn't have sex until I was 28. Then I had sex with [two] men in 3 months that I didn't like very much. I had planned to wait for marriage."

"Screw feminism, I want to be Mrs. Cleaver."

"He is my everything. I'm leaving here to be with him."

Number one:

If you open up the inside flaps, it says "I have eaten Reese's for breakfast". Sorry, but it was hard to get a good picture of that one.

The tentacle charm is polyclay and a ton of work. I burned the first poor little one, but that one came out well.

Here's what I got in return:

Necklace, earrings, crocheted (?) octopus-like creature.

Paper-mache (?) squid - sorry to make you all tilt your heads. Smiley

Thank you, Flying Betty. Smiley

My partner said she received but hasn't posted pictures yet, so here are the somewhat crappy pictures I took before sending things off:

My large item: two crocheted squids. This is a bad picture of them; the one is a baby blue and the other is a medium purple.

My medium item: a crocheted octopus necklace. I since added a little gem to the bottom of the longest tentacle because I felt like it was missing something.

Two small things: a tentacle charm that took forever to make, to break up the crocheted monotony, and an octopus fridgie magnet, which I made just because I found the pattern online and was kind of bored. The color of the fridgie is the same color of the blue squid.

I also threw in a dragon charm since Flying Betty mentioned loving dragons in a post and a bag of M&Ms, because who doesn't like candy? Cheesy

I got my package today and I will post pictures soon.

Here's some pictures for the people who are scared of links, mostly because this shirt is too awesome to miss:

You are a trooper for cutting out all those tiny letters! I would have gone crazy!

Okay, my partner said she received and would post pictures, but she hasn't yet...so I thought I would post the one that I took.

She said that she liked steampunk but also had a bohemian air about her, so I made her this necklace:

My thought was that the yarn made it look like it was made out of hemp (for the bohemian part) but also that working in circles like that reminded me of gears (for the steampunk part).

And yeah, I realize that it's not exactly 4" x 4", but the actual necklace part is; the chain isn't, but that's because I needed it to actually fit around her neck. Don't worry, I cleared it all with our lovely organizer before I sent it.

20  Nerdy letter bracelet... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by instantkarma on: February 14, 2008 01:23:39 PM
...but that's really all I can say without giving it away!

First person to guess what this bracelet says (and how you figured it out) gets to be my valentine! Wink

Any guesses?
