1  Re: Ribbed Lace Bolero *with pattern!* in Knitting: Completed Projects by arcticmouse on: May 14, 2008 01:52:37 PM
here is mine.  i got impatient and made it too short, but i am pretty happy with the way it turned out.  it took me one month to finish, but in my defense i work about 50 hours a week.  boo!  anywho, i did make it for my sister, and she loves it.  this is a picture of me in it, but my sis is a bit smaller and more fit than me, so i figure it fits her better.

2  reused journal in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by arcticmouse on: May 13, 2008 02:35:17 PM
i saved up paper from my 2 jobs and home for a month to get a good mix of different types of paper for this journal.  it was my first one, i think it turned out allright but next time i will do some things differently when i glue the pages to the cover so it (the cover) doesnt turn out so junky looking.  i guess it looks fairly nice in the pictures, but they are soooo deceiving!

i totally and completely ripped off this idea from CheyElizabeth's topic http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170989.0

anywho, the magnets are made out of lone star bottle caps (if you are not from texas: lone star is the 'national beer' of texas.  when you get it in a bottle the caps  have word puzzles on the them).

anywho, my mom totally loved this.  thanks CheyElizabeth!

ooo, also, i didnt use an altoids tin.  i went to hobby lobby and bought one of the silver tins they sell there that say 'hobby lobby' on them.  so its a bit wider & longer than an altoids tin, but just as thick.

4  pavilion scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by arcticmouse on: December 16, 2007 05:51:38 PM
So, this is not my pattern, and it is just a plain old scarf I made for someone for Christmas time, but I thought it turned out pretty snazzy.  The pattern takes a long time to go through, and its pretty unmemorizable (at least for me!) but I thought it would look neat as a panel on a sweater.  So, this is the pattern: http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches/pavilion.htm

And this is what it looks like made with size 8 needles with that bulk red heart yarn.... the stuff that is like, 200,000,000 yards for only $1 or something.

(sorry, I haven't posted ten times on Craftster yet, you will have to follow the link to my profile!)
