Aww, that's so cute! My Mom loves bluebirds & mice, so that would be perfect for her. Good job!  Smiley

I LOVE this fishbowl. I realize this topic hasn't been active in a while, but I thought it deserved comment - I especially love the clever choice of fabric and the multi-colored threads / different stitches. It looks terrific!

Me too! The multi-colored threads are so cool! What kind are they?

18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: I hate to admit it but.... on: September 02, 2006 06:42:03 AM

I do mostly back stitch in my embroidery for lines and satin or basket stitch for filling areas in.

Hi ya! I've never heard of basket stitch. Is it easy? I tried to google it, but I couldn't find anything with pictures.

Thanks!

20  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Using Split Stitch on: August 31, 2006 08:08:05 PM
Hi everyone! I'm stitching something that says to use split stitch to fill in a big area. When you guys do this are you keeping the stitches in the same direction like this:

(Going from left to right always)
---------------------------------------------->
---------------------------------------------->

Or do you think it's OK to go like this:
(Going from left to right one line & then right to left)
---------------------------------------------->
<---------------------------------------------

Thanks!
