I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but since I havn't posted here for a while (swaps, swaps. swaps) I thought I would make an appearance.  I made this little quilt for a baby gift.  I just used 5" squares and quilted with the batting before put the backing on.  I embellished the quilt with a lace doilly from the thrift store. I used a floral print minkee remenant for the back.

I ordered this fall charm pack from Moda, but I did not know what I was going to make. I started sewing and this is what happened.

So, my grandma had these tea towels that she embroidered way back when, probably in the 40's or 50's.  I have always planned on replicating them.  I finally did it, I took a photocopy of the tea towel and traced it with a fabric transfer pencil, and went to it.  this is how it came out.  My sister swears that my grandma drew these (there is another style I haven't done yet) and that they are her original artwork, she is passed so I can't ask her.  I haven't ever seen these designs before, if anyone out there has seen this before please let me know, it would be really cool if it was an original.

I love this Wee Wonderfuls "Stichette" and had to make something out of it.  I decided on a grocery tote, and I think it came out cute.  You really can't go wrong with her wonderful embroidery patterns.

Our business partner had a health scare a few months back and has gone super healthy, which means he is drinking a lot of water.  He was complaining about having to carry his water bottle everywhere, so i offered to make him a water bottle holder.  of course I couldn't make just any old water bottle holder, it had to be special.  He is an avid Fly Fisherman, so that is the theme I chose.  I silk Screened fish on plain black cotton fabric, and to add a little embellishment, I stitched in some fishing hooks in gold thread on the tab closure.  It was not the easiest project ever, but I think it came out good.

O.K. so I found this georgeous fabric panel the other day and had to have it.  I plan on making a wall hanging out of it but in the mean time I decided that the squares were the perfect size for a pot holder.  I quilted it with metalic gold thread and I think it came out pretty good. (even though that metalic thread was not to fun to work with, kept breaking)

I have a coworker who had a baby boy, and I wanted to make him a little something.  I asked him what colors he liked and he said the baby looked good in browns.  So I tea dyed some onsies ( they look better in person)  and silk screened/stenciled them, I am happy with them.

My husband was looking for a way to get logo t-shirts for his start-up company, the key word here is start-up, which means no budget for t-shirts.  I told him that I would figure something out.  So I set out to find an inexpensive way to silk screen and I came across the embroidery hoop, modge podge technique and this is what happened.

I found this pillowcase at the thrift store, it was made out of a vintage feedsack, I think it turned out cute.
