12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bright, Colorful, Rose Jewelry From Zippers on: January 02, 2009 09:41:02 AM
I have been making these like crazy lately, I am doing the Indie Sacramento
show on Saturday, so I will see how they sell.  I just love them because they are so colorful and interesting, definitely a conversation piece when someone notices they are made from a zipper!
Some little girl headbands made from plastic zippers

An array of Brooches, some plastic, some metal and some two tone:

Look how cute they look on a sweater:

I prefer stitching them, I feel like I can sculpt them better, but you can also use a low temp glue gun(just be careful of the glue showing)
Let me know what you think Grin
13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Craft supply carry all tote made with a placemat and ziplock bags on: December 23, 2008 09:48:49 AM
My mom has made these for years for her quilter friends as gifts.  The are really great for organizing your craft supplies like embroidery floss, trim, or whatever.  I use mine all the time.  I made some for a craft fair, and they went over well.  let me know what you think, I could do a quick tutorial if anyone wants, they are super easy.  I picked up this placemat and the vintage trim at a thrift store and I buy the ziplock zipper freezer bags at Target (their brand)

Thanks for looking!
14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pink felted clutch lined with yummy Heather Bailey fabric on: November 23, 2008 07:36:51 PM
I really wanted to make a felted bag, and my knitting skills are very basic.  So I did a little research and came up with this:

This bag is lined with my favorite fabric designer of the moment, Heather Bailey.  I give instructions how to make this (it is really simple) on my BLOG
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Earrings made from vintage sewing trim/lace on: November 23, 2008 05:49:35 PM
I made these earrings by using fabric stiffener on some vintage flower trim you would typically use for sewing.
I posted a tutorial on my BLOG
Check it out they were super easy to make and there are so many options of what type of fabric you can use.

I made this felted clutch, and I think it turned out lovely.  As most people know I Loooove the color orange and I fell in love with this wool yarn the moment I saw it.  I used a great vintage button for the closure, and lined it with this great cotton Heather Bailey fabric.

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My Craft room is orange!!! I love it!!! on: August 29, 2008 06:40:22 PM
I have been itching to paint my craftroom orange, I am an Orange freak Cool!!  So i finally got up the guts, and this is what happened.  I havn't finished my remodel but it looks a heck of a lot better.

I finally found a use for that beautiful  Shocked Veuve Cliquot (my favorite Champagne) Silk Scarf.  The pincushion painting is inspired by the tattoo in this post,
that I have been obsessed about since I saw it posted here on Craftster.  Here is a better shot of the painting:

My first painting!

Thanks for looking Cheesy
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Cute Stiff Skeleton Earrings on: August 26, 2008 11:54:23 PM
I made these earrings from a technique I saw in a craft magazine, where they used fabric stiffner and lace.  I decided that I would use skeleton fabric, and i think they came out pretty good.

Thanks for looking Shocked

I am in love with this book, bend the rules SEWING, by Amy Karol(the fabric store near my house is closing so I got the book for 50% off, score!).  The cover project is so cute and easy and makes a last minute gift.  I have made a few of these so far and plan to make many more.

This one i made as a last minute gift for a friend to keep her invisaline braces in:

This one i made for a swap, I used red linen fabric and painted the dots on it:
