14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bright, Colorful, Rose Jewelry From Zippers on: January 02, 2009 09:41:02 AM
I have been making these like crazy lately, I am doing the Indie Sacramento
show on Saturday, so I will see how they sell.  I just love them because they are so colorful and interesting, definitely a conversation piece when someone notices they are made from a zipper!
Some little girl headbands made from plastic zippers

An array of Brooches, some plastic, some metal and some two tone:

Look how cute they look on a sweater:

I prefer stitching them, I feel like I can sculpt them better, but you can also use a low temp glue gun(just be careful of the glue showing)
Let me know what you think Grin
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Craft supply carry all tote made with a placemat and ziplock bags on: December 23, 2008 09:48:49 AM
My mom has made these for years for her quilter friends as gifts.  The are really great for organizing your craft supplies like embroidery floss, trim, or whatever.  I use mine all the time.  I made some for a craft fair, and they went over well.  let me know what you think, I could do a quick tutorial if anyone wants, they are super easy.  I picked up this placemat and the vintage trim at a thrift store and I buy the ziplock zipper freezer bags at Target (their brand)

Thanks for looking!

I really wanted to make a felted bag, and my knitting skills are very basic.  So I did a little research and came up with this:

This bag is lined with my favorite fabric designer of the moment, Heather Bailey.  I give instructions how to make this (it is really simple) on my BLOG
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Earrings made from vintage sewing trim/lace on: November 23, 2008 05:49:35 PM
I made these earrings by using fabric stiffener on some vintage flower trim you would typically use for sewing.

I posted a tutorial on my BLOG
Check it out they were super easy to make and there are so many options of what type of fabric you can use.

I made this felted clutch, and I think it turned out lovely.  As most people know I Loooove the color orange and I fell in love with this wool yarn the moment I saw it.  I used a great vintage button for the closure, and lined it with this great cotton Heather Bailey fabric.

I finally found a use for that beautiful  Shocked Veuve Cliquot (my favorite Champagne) Silk Scarf.  The pincushion painting is inspired by the tattoo in this post,
