Hi!
I made this onesie for the comming baby (a girl) of a family of climbers. I`m so excited to see what they think about it because this is my first order!

The climber girl silouette is painted with a stencil I made specially for this work.

2  Notebooks made with japanesse rice paper in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by beruta on: November 20, 2007 05:35:25 AM
Hi!
Finally I made my first notebooks! I LOVE papers but I haven`t work with them before (well, just wraping gifts, one of my passions!)

They are made with cardboard, rice paper, red cotton strip, embroidery thread, rubber band, sheets of paper and white glue.

In the blue one I didn`t glue the cotton strip to the cover, so it can be used to fold small papers.

But in the green one I glued it because I was afraid that paper could damage the embroidery.

Now I have to wait to see if the technique I used to glue the sheets of paper is strong enough. If it works I`ll make a tutorial  Wink
There are more pictures and explanations in my blog, I didn`t want to make here a too long post!

Hope you like it!

3  matching handbag, purse and bracelet for a special occasion in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beruta on: November 11, 2007 06:32:08 AM
Hi bag-makers!

This the first bracelet and purse I make, I`ve done a couple of bags more, but with very diferent shapes. This is the first time I use interlining in a bag it`s quite well but not as rigid as I wanted...

I`m very happy with the bracelet because it does have the shape and consistency I wanted!!! I made the purse with a test I made to choose the  appropiate interlining for the bag, I didn`t want to throw it away and I made a little purse just to wear the identity card (it has got the tipical plastic pocket for it) an some money.

Hope you like it!

4  Re: small doll face in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by beruta on: November 11, 2007 05:24:07 AM
Wow, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your answers!!! You are very kind!

I`m glad you don`t find this doll strange without a face. I also like it this way, anyway if her face "comes to my mind" I`ll problably try it.

This is the doll I made before the "blondy":

I was also beautiful without the face, but in this case I need it, at least the carrot nose to understand she was a snowlady! After making the face I thought it was better with it,  face gives a lot of expresion and personality to dolls!

I must say that snowlady`s face was easyer to make (although I also went crazy looking for the materials) because it could be a more fantastic face, you know, button eyes (small pieces of rubber cords), big carrot nose (felt) and any kind of mouth (pipe: felt + 1pin)! (There are more pictures to see the face closer in my blog)
But in this second doll the face must be more realistic.
By the moment, you are right, she`s not gonna have it, she`s a beautiful lady like this! Grin

Thank you again for all your advices, I`ll work with embroidery tips to hide knots fot the next dolls!

5  small doll face in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by beruta on: November 09, 2007 01:59:13 PM
Hi! This is the last doll I`ve made, but I have a problem!:

It has a very small face (2 cm/0,7 inches width) and it`s very difficult to find materials that can be cut so tiny for the eyes and lips! Do you have any idea of what can I use? Felt doesn`t work; it`s very small to make them with embroidery because there`s no space to hide the knot (at least I`m not able  Grin). I think that the best thing would be to paint it, but with it`s made with linen and you must be very careful painting it, I don`t want to spoil it!

I`m also wondering leaving this way, because I also like it!
I`ll appreciate any opinion, THANK YOU!!!
