1  Legitimately Ironic Tea Cozy! (pic heavy) in CHALLENGE 30 ENTRIES by spacecat888 on: September 03, 2008 12:17:31 AM
Oh Boy!  You gotta love irony-- it's literature's way of saying GOTCHA!!!!
Now, to understand my project here, we'll make like an old-timey movie... words... illustration... words... illustration... ready? ok!

My mom told me that when she was growing up, women of the house and young single ladies would certainly drink socially... sort of.  It was considered rude to be obvious, so the gals found a way around that little obstacle

Fast-forward roughly 35 years, and chickies my age have a whole 'nother issue... Street Cred. (In a manner of speaking)

As a 20-something California girl who has attended University, I am expected to be able to drink my weight in liquor.  But since I have other things on my mind (husband, job, dogs, mortgage, crocheting, reading, etc.) sobriety is a definite plus.  In fact, I was more excited to receive an authentic Japanese tea pot from my bro, than a free bottle of wine from our neighbor... But WAIT!
Teapot = grandmas = NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR MY AGE DEMOGRAPHIC

SO! after a quick trip to the yarns 'n' hooks purse in the living room

and with the aid of one day off, two dogs, and season 3 of The Golden Girls

I whipped out this little sucker to prove to ANY disbeliever that I can still take a shot like a champ!

It's nice to know that more than three decades after women were encouraged to disguise their hooch as coffee, now I'm trying to pass off my green tea as booze-- now that's ironic  Smiley
