I am so excited! I have been involved with Philly's hackerspace, The Hacktory, for a while now and we are running our first craft make. Come on out on either Thursday, February 12 or Friday, February 13 to make your own musical card from scratch, or bring a neatly shaped object and turn it into a chocolate mold.
Here are the details:
Contact: For more information email us (contact[at]thehacktory dot org)
Address: 1524 Brandywine Street, Philadelphia PA 19130
This Valentines day, the Hacktory celebrates geek romance. How would you like to give your honey a monogrammed chocolate heart, or a card that plays your special song? Stop by on Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th and you can learn how to record your own musical Valentines cards and music boxes, or make your own chocolate molds on our vacuum former. These projects are cheap and easy and will make you look like a total stud (or stud-ette).
We've got all the parts and tools ready for you, but we ask that you make a donation to cover their cost: $15 for DIY musical cards and $9 for chocolate making (if we have the machine working)!
We will have on hand:
Hot Glue Guns
All kinds of tapes and instant-glue
Electronics, wires, and spare parts
This event is free, and open to anyone of any skill level, and any stage of gift-panic! Thanks to Nonprofit Technology Resources for sponsoring this free event.
