1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / i've learned to wire wrap and to coral! plus some other 'regular' stuff on: November 15, 2005 06:57:58 AM
so here's what i've been up to lately. making more and more earrings. i swear i have so many pairs by now that i don't even get the chance to wear them all  Undecided

after i found some thin copper wire in the cellar i knew instantly that it was time for some wire wrapping. i had just learned the technique and was impatient to try it out:

these are kind of big, definitely party-earrings

the mother of pearl pieces were too lovely to toletare any other beads next to them

these were made after the tutorial here http://jewelrymaking.allinfoabout.com/features/coraling.html. i used fishing line, so that's why they look kind of stiff

i found a boring necklace on the sale, took it apart and got those green malachite beads

after all the 'colour-challenged' earrings, i decided i needed some colour boost:

and i've joined the cluster-ring-club! here's my first. the wooden beads look like rowanberries, very autumny, isn't it? Wink
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / some buttons are better than others on: October 21, 2005 06:40:02 AM
...at least for making earrings!!  Wink

at a craft store buying some other stuff, i noticed these cute black and white buttons. as it turned out, they were the last two and i simply could not leave them at the store!

inspired by the find, i looked through the piles of buttons and i found these small rectangular ones, obviously made for making jewellery!

now i've had a taste and i want more!!! Smiley
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / online European bead selling sites on: October 18, 2005 03:07:57 AM
i have got the impression that most of the online bead stores are based in the US. yeah, that is kind of a problem for me, since i cannot make a paypal account and also i really don't want to pay more for the shipping than the things itself.

So if you buy your beads and beading supplies online from some European site, please let me know! Smiley
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / shoes'n'purses aka my new fabulous hobobag! on: September 15, 2005 04:19:49 AM
as soon as i found this fantastic fabric with shoes, purses, bangles, belts etc, i KNEW it would make a great bag!  normally i am a *very* impatient sewer and i rarely finish the things i start, but i was so inspired by this fabric and i desperately wanted this bag so i made everything carefully and just took my time to make it.
i got a lot of help from this site, especially the tutorial by sushimifune http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=14604.0

here's my bag, with a cd case for size reference. it is pretty big, because i like to/have to carry a lot of stuff with me

an inside view. pocket; and two coloured zipper. i simply could not decide whether to use white or hot pink zipper, so i joined the two different coloured zippers! Smiley

hope you like it! Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / red and silver: 2 bracelet-earring sets (img heavy!) on: August 17, 2005 06:07:52 AM
my very first bracelet! Smiley  i used different kinds of red glass beads.

me wearing it:

i really liked how it turned out so i decided to make some matching earrings:

many of the things i usually make are quite colourful and big and attention-demanding, for a change i wanted to make something i could wear anytime and with anything. here they are: bracelet and earrings with wire, glass beads and silver danglings (which make this sweet little sound when i move Cheesy):

hope the pics work now!!!

here are some of my earrings. i find that i love making them more than i love wearing them  Cheesy

initially i wanted to play on the orange-hot pink contrast (i  love that combination!), but somehow the blue creeped in

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / denim bustier...completely handsewn!! on: March 23, 2005 02:46:21 AM
i made this last year, used a pattern actually, but had to adjust it quite a lot!
at the time i did not have a sewing machine and since i *really* needed a bustier (yeah, right! Wink )-  i sew it by hand!
it has a quite rough-looking dark brown zipper at the back (i did photograph it, but somehow it got lost...), which i left intentionally visible. also, it has no boning.

here it is:
