21  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Homemade paints? on: November 07, 2008 10:22:02 AM
Just curious: I once heard that there is a way to make homemade paints out of plants, like grass, dandelions, daisies, other flowers, weeds, etc.  Does anyone know how that is done?  I just want to know what it entails.  Thank you very much.

Is "Poundland" a pound shop that we Americans call a dollar store?

I really like that yellow one!
Was it "Poundland" you got them from?

You can also just "purl" the 15 rows for the "hat".

I turned it inside out because I liked the look of the wrong side better.

Then I put the "hat" back on the loom by hooking the bottom edge of the hat on the pegs.  (does that make sense? It's like when you're making a hat brim, except that you're not making a brim!  Grin )

Yes, I have adobe reader, but that link did not give me a pdf file, just an error message.  Thanks for the html link, though.

here's the link for the i-cord directions:
http://decoraccentsinc.com/Icord.pdf

(there were two slashes before the icord.)

this is so cute! Great idea -- so simple, too!

Unfortunatly, this link does not work for me.

The link is a PDF file--do you have Adobe Reader?

Try this one:  http://decoraccentsinc.com/knitting_loom_instructions.html

That's a page with links and one of them is for the I-Cord.  If that doesn't work, PM me and maybe I can convert it to a different type of file  (eek! that's stretching my computer skills to the max, but I'd give it a try, so let me know!)

- make your own menorah, years ago I saw one made in a magazine. They had a six-pointed star from thin wood. Paint the star blue and add 9 large nuts (from the tool-box!). 8 nuts should be painted or sprayed in white or silver, the ninth should become blue. Glue the nuts to the star. It's only to use for very thin candles.

I've seen something like this done, I think.

Last year I cross stitched the chanukah cards, since it's hard to find charts I made my own. You can find it in mi blog here
