1  UNITED STATES / Alabama / Montgomery area anyone? on: April 06, 2010 09:12:24 AM
Just wondering if I'm the only one here in the Montgomery, tri-county area? Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka!!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My First Kanzashi Flower! on: April 06, 2010 08:59:24 AM
I joined a swap on Swap-Bot for these. We're to make them into a brooch. I can seriously see myself making more of these!! I had trouble putting it together. But I finally figured something out and got it done!! All I have left to do is to attach a pin to the back and it's ready to go!!

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Dress for my Daughter on: April 05, 2010 02:46:12 PM
I finally finished it!! I promised her this dress a month or so ago if she would quit crying about pulling a tooth! She pulled it and the next day, I took her to JoAnn's to pick out the fabric. I honestly thought she'd go for the cute cupcake fabric, but she surprised me!! The fabric sat there for a couple of weeks and about 2 weeks ago, I took the time FINALLY to make it!! She really loves it and wore it Easter Sunday.

I made it using Simplicity Pattern 5226 view B.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A top I made on: April 05, 2010 02:37:48 PM
My original plans for this top was to add a larger piece of the Kaufman Movie Monsters fabric that I have below the bust line. Once I actually got it made and pinned on the piece, I realized it didn't look good, so I went with this instead!!
I used Simplicity pattern 3450 View A. I didn't use stretchy fabric or anything like what is listed on the back. It's more of a light cotton...can't remember the kind now!!! Instead of plain black cuffs for the sleeves, I used the Movie Monster Fabric there. I also trimmed it in green bias tape that matched the green in the Monster fabric. After I realized the large piece of fabric wouldn't worked, I remembered the Bride of Frankenstein patch that I've been having for a while now...never really knew what you do with it. But it was PERFECT for this top!! And I do love the Bride!! So this is my finished product:

If I can ever get my hands on a Frankenstein patch like that, I'll probably make another one with his picture on it!!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A tshirt recon on: April 05, 2010 02:29:36 PM
I got this tshirt about a year ago at Ross. I was planning on doing something with it! But never got around to it until a couple of months ago. I originally cut it down just to fit me. But when I put it on, it was way too short. So I decided to add some fabric to it. And when I saw this fabric, I thought it was perfect!!

7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hi again! on: February 22, 2010 07:05:32 PM
Hello everyone!! After a bit of lurking, I've decided to come out of the craft room again!! I did post when I first started my account here. But recent events elsewhere have led me to look for my 2nd online home. And I've always enjoyed coming here. And now I've decided to pack my bags and slowly make the move over here!

I mainly do sewing. But I will dip my paws into anything I think I can do. And I've done a few different types of projects over the years!! I've made quilts, clothes, ATCs, matchbox shrines, amis, crochet, altered bottlecaps..I  could keep going.. but I think you might get the idea!  Grin Knitting is the only thing I've never attempted and only because I don't know anyone IRL that does it. I learn better from watching someone do it instead of reading it and attempting it on my own!

Well I wanted to drop by and say Hi to everyone..again!!!

It's good to be home again!! Kiss
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Some quilts I've done on: February 22, 2010 06:44:26 PM
I'm all over Craftster tonight!! Just sharing all the projects I've completed in the past!! And I have a few quilts here. There are a few quilt tops, but for some reason I never got a picture of the finished piece. But they have all been finished!!!

This was my first ever quilt. I purchased the pre-cut squares off of Ebay.

I made this one for my sister. She loves cats but just about everyone in her family is allergic! The cats are appliqued on.

Princess quilt top for my daughter. It is now completed!!

I made this one for my oldest son. It was my 2nd quilt and I didn't really know what I was doing as far as cutting out my own fabric. Hence the crookedness!!

I actually made 2 like this from pre-cut squares I got from Ebay. I made one for a friend's son and one for my nephew.

Quilt top, that's now finished. I made it for my mom, who likes roosters. This one is named Cock Block!!

Halloween rag quilt. I got this picture before I cut it. This is one of my favorite quilts. Both Halloween quilts are out all year round!!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Superman for my son!! on: February 22, 2010 06:35:37 PM
I actually did this last year. But I wanted to share some of my projects with Craftster!! He's now 3 1/2 and loves Superman. Has Superman stuff all over his room!! This was my first completed crochet project in a long time!
