1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt Skunk on: January 29, 2008 04:29:27 PM
wow! i love it! It turned out great, awesome idea too!!!!!!!  Cheesy Cheesy

will you share the pattern?

Thanks so much!

I'll see what I can do about the pattern.  :S  I didn't exactly save it, but I think I can re-draft it.  I'm apparently really big on sewing things without a pattern.  (hey, where would you find a skunk pattern anyway?  X3 )

Thanks to everyone else for your kind words!

T4124: I got the idea from someone's sig.  And yes, his tail fits into the jacket tail.  (and I almost thought I wasn't going to be able to pull that off!)

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt Skunk on: January 28, 2008 05:44:19 PM
I made a stuffed skunk (in fox's clothing) for a gift exchange way back in December.  It was the most insanely complicated thing I've ever sewn.  (which probably wasn't helped by the fact that I made up my own pattern)

Thoughts?

3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Bloody Pumpkins on: October 30, 2007 11:38:00 AM
I don't have pics yet, but I carved some pumpkins the other day, and I've discovered that if you mix the guts with food colouring and cherry kool-aid, you get something that looks like meat.  It's pretty awful-looking - I LOVE it!

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: Felt Food need help! on: October 28, 2007 01:36:48 PM
Most of the time, I just freehand patterns when I make stuff felt things, but you might want to make a simple pattern.

As for a scalloped edge, you'll probably want to get a pair of those wavy-edge scissors - I usually see them in scrapbooking departments in the craft store I go to.  I'm not sure if they'd do well with felt, since I've never used them, but it's worth a try.  (or, you could just use pinking shears)

I use just the cheap felt.  I cut it out, whip stitch the pieces together with embroidery thread, and then stuff it with fiberfill or whatnot.

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Loki and the Snake (warning, shirtless man!) on: October 24, 2007 12:18:53 PM
I like the cross-hatching further down on the snake's body but where his belly ends and his head begins it looks a bit too big.  I think if you made it a little more subtle it would be excellent.  As it is, I could never draw something like that, so congrats to you for being creative and being brave enough to post something you weren't quite confident about!  Grin

It has been a while since I did this - but I did it with no references.  *am lazy*  So, I'll have to agree with you on that, and the cross-hatching thing.  Plus the snake's body doesn't bend right, et cetera.  *sigh*

So many people with platypus fetishes!  XD  I love platypi, they're the Gods' joke on mankind!  *is shot*
