I just finished this little bunny for my son's preschool silent auction.  You can't see the body very well, but I used a different style to make her.  I started with the head and decreased for the neck, then increased for the shoulders and simply pinched off either side of the neck to form the arms.  As I am writing this it sounds a little convoluted so I will just skip that explanation.  Anyways, there was no joining involved .... which I have always hated doing anyways!  The dress was a struggle to do, but I think it turned out okay!  Hope you like her!

I started this beach coverup/sweater about a year ago and finished it last October, but never managed to get photos of it! I wore it today over top of jeans and a black t-shirt as these spring days are a little chilly still!  I used Sirdar Just Bamboo Yarn that I got on sale, and the pattern booklet came with it.  After attempting several different other patterns I came bak to the Sirdar booklet and went at it!  I brought the neckline up a lot, and lengthened it at the hem, so I could throw it over top of a swimsuit and have ample coverage of my behind!  Here is the Ravelry Link *i hope this is okay to post a link ... the rules have changed since I first joined Craftster) with a few notes:

I picked up the Levenwick pattern from Brooklyn Tweed a while ago, and just fell in love with it! I got to work on it right away, and eleven days later I had myself a sweater.  This is the fourth sweater I have knit for myself and i think it's my favourite so far!

It was a fairlt easy pattern, though I changed it a bit.  The pattern called for reverse stockinette, but with te yarn i chose, regular stockinette looked better.  I chose some vintage buttons from my stash, but only had 6 that matched, so for the top button I found one with a brass four leaf clover on it.  Perfect, since I knit the sweater over St. Patricks Day! Anyways, onto the photos:

I finally decided it was time to make a hat for myself.  We just moved and I can't find any of my knitting needles!  I did manage to find a pair of straight 3mm needles, but how do you make a hat on straight needles?  Enter in the Drops "Edith Piaf" Hat with Band pattern!  It was a super easy, slightly boring pattern, but I think it turned out great!  The band at the front is a bit thick, but I added a brooch and think that fixed the look.  Anyways let me know what you think!

I decided to finally make a wreath, so I sketched up some ideas and came up with this!



I started off by studying some sun burst clocks from the 1950's, then went to work!

I'll do a short tutorial, if you want to create your own untraditional wreath!

Supplies:

Styrofoam wreath
White Duct Tape (or ribbon)
Bamboo Skewers
Styrofoam balls (mine were already covered in glitter!)
cardboard
glue
modge podge or acrylic medium
glitter
Clear Protectant Spray
Paint



I cut out the diamond shapes, painted them, then covered them in medium to adhere the glitter.  After the glitter was dry I sprayed them with the Protectant Spray to hold the glitter in place.  I then covered the wreath in duct tape and covered with medium, then glitter, and a spray of protectant spray.  I painted the skewers white, then thread the blue glitter balls on.  I glued the red diamonds onto some more bamboo skewers and stuck them all around the wreath.



I decided to add a cardboard bow, also covered in glitter!  There you go!

PS:  i know .... our door desperately needs to be painted, just try to ignore it, I do!

I started knitting 5 months ago.  This was my second sweater and it was for me!! I used the Mayim pattern and found it fairly easy with the help of knittinghelp.com of course!  I learned a lot and feel a lot more confident about knitting now!

The yarn is Galway Highland Heather ... can't remember what the color was called though!  I used 4 skeins i think.

I have been knitting now for five months. I have completed 3 sweaters and am working on another .... it's hooked!  Well i WAS hooked .... i have crochetted for five years and was always afraid to learn to knit, but now i've done it!  And I can't get enough!  Here is the first sweater i ever made!  I'll be posting the others soon!

I used a pattern from the Lion Brand Free Pattern site.  It was easy and fun, though I wasn't a fan of sewing seams.  It's almost too small for him now and that's a bit sad.  I suppose I'll just have to have another baby so it can be used again!

I don't remember what yarn i used, but i think it was an alpaca blend.

I have made a number of crochet sweaters in the past, but they all just end up on my closet floor, or back in the craft room to be frogged.  They were bulky and ill fitting, until now!

I finally got the right yarn, the right pattern and the right fit!  I'm not new to crochet, but new to the crochet garment.  This is my third sweater and I have to say .... I love it!

I used a merino super wash ( can't remember the brand)  I got a whole big bag for $40!  Enough for the sweater with three skeins to spare!  The pattern was from the book Contemporary Crochet : 37 European Designs.  I don't remember the pattern ,but if you have the book I'm sure you'd find it!  I made the neck smaller as the off-the-should boat neck is just not for me.  Love a boat neck, just not off- the-shoulder!

I also changed the sleeves and the waist.  For the sleeves I decided not to decrease at all, so they looked like a flared sleeve until I wove in elastic thread, then they became the puff at the wrist sleeve you see in the photos.

Once I finished the sweater it was too short ...so i added a wide ribbed band to lengthen it.  I think it makes to sweater a bit more casual as well.  Anyways there you have it!  Let me know what you think!

I made a baby blanket for a firend of mine.  I use the same wool as used in traditional cowichan sweaters.  It's 100% virgin sheep wool and it's AMAZING stuff! It's rather bulky!  I use an 8 or 10mm hook most of the time.  Anyways here is the blanket.  I think it turned out rather well!

I threw a bridal shower for a friend last summer and just found the photos!  I made some tissue paper flower decorations for the appetizer table and as the day progressed we decided that they'd make pretty good hats!  We secured them with bobby pins and went out on the town!  We got a lot of looks and compliments!  All in all it was a fun time!
