941  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: The Unloved Goldfish on: November 26, 2007 10:33:09 AM
I have to say i like this one better.  the contrast of the roughness in the fish and the sharp lines in the background create a nice grounding for the piece.   it's much calmer.  the nancy fish has a lot more detail which makes it more apealling. i do like the compsition of the first one a bit better (balance of positive and negative), this one is not as balanced as the godfish is much smaller and the orientation doesn't give the same movement as in the nancy piece.  i enjoy the vibrance of your color choices too.

I made this hat for my son today!  We needed a photo for our december page in our family calendar, so i thought a cute hat would be a good idea for the photo!  I can't remeber how i did it, but it's just hdc and sc.  thanks for looking!

946  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Question about bunny slippers on: November 16, 2007 09:25:32 AM
yeah i used 2 strands of wool together as well (both worset weight, one fuzzy) and the reccomended hook and they were HUGE!  i am a narrow 7, so i took them apart and have started my own pattern.... kind of based on the photos in the book.

948  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Frou Fou Sweater on: November 16, 2007 09:15:27 AM
thanks!  the sleeve were super easy.  i jst made them according to the pattern, only a bit longer and without the border, then crocetted a seperate pece of ribbed single crochet and attached it to the botom of the sleeve and it gathered it!
949  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Frou Fou Sweater on: November 15, 2007 07:58:57 PM
So this is my version of the frou frou sweater from the happy hooker book.  I made closures for it instead of having it wrap and I changed the sleeves!  I like it a lot!
