31  Jewelry/Sunglasses Solution in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mamaedgar on: March 27, 2009 12:55:32 PM
Not sure if this is the right place to post my project, but here it is.

I decided that I neded to organize my necklaces and sunglasses as they were being kept in a cardboard box.  I kept forgetting about all the great things I had, so I borrowed an idea from my mom ..... not a new idea i know!  Basically, just glue gunned some fabric onto a cork board and hung everything up with thumb tacks.  Now to the good part....

The one thing I am happy about, is my solution to hanging my sunglasses.  I uses some scrap shrink plastic to make little sunglasses holders.  I think the photos explain the rest!

32  Sleep Pod or Baby Condom?! in Crochet: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: March 13, 2009 08:21:59 PM
I decided that instead of making a baby blanket for my own baby-to-be that I would make a sleep pod/sack instead.(okay, I was just sick of making baby blankets!)  We swaddle, andf had problems with our first son busting out of the receiving blanket swaddle during the night.

So I thought the sleep pod/sack would contain the baby-to-be nicely as well as providing warmth ..... I also had dreams that baby-to-be would look like a cute little pea poking out of it's pod!  So I finihsed it up and tried it on Lewis the Bear ..... haha!  My husband said that it looks like a condom ..... and i have to agree!  But I'll still try it out when baby is born! I guess I should have either decreased quicker, making the bottom rounded, or decreased slower, making the bottom a more gradual point.

33  Felt Jackalope in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: February 13, 2009 07:14:25 AM
I decided that I needed something that made me laugh.  My house is becomeing more and more "adult" like and I just couldn't take it anymore!  So along came the Jackalope.  I was going to get one from this site:

http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12457559

But instead decided that I wanted to try and make one.  So here is how he turned out.  We haven't named him yet.  Not really sure what to call him.  But he's very happy on my wall now!

35  Basket Weave Baby Cap in Crochet: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: February 03, 2009 02:34:17 PM
I've been looking for projects to use up my yarn stash and also explore my creativity.  I've come up with a cute little hat for babies ( I know A LOT of people having babies ..... including me!).  I started a bit small, but have made 4 different sizes so far.  I plan to get some nice fancy wool to make some other ones, once my stash is a bit smaller!  let me know what you think!  I want to eventually write a pattern, but have to figure out what I did as I never write these things down!

36  Basket Weave Baby Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: January 16, 2009 07:08:31 PM
I've finished another baby blanket.  This one is for my neighbor.  She doesn't know what she's having, so it's fairly neutral.  If it's a girl I may add a pretty edge to it, but we'll see.  It's just FPdc and BPdc, very easy, just takes a lot of yarn!  Now I am working on a rather complicated one for my baby-to-be with popcorn stitches and cables ..... something i'd never done before!  Can't wait to see how it turns out.

38  Bubble Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: December 12, 2008 03:48:11 PM
I made this scarf ages ago, adapted from a baby blanket pattern.  Its a nice soft acrylic as I'm allergic to wool.  It took longer than i thought, but turned out well.  No action shots sorry!  I'm horrible at taking self portraits.

I've been busy making lots of toys for christmas this year!  All of them have bells in them so they rattle.  I made up the pattern for all of them EXCEPT the belugas .... pattern found here:http://planetjune.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=25

I love making toys!

40  what is this mess? in Quilting: Completed Projects by mamaedgar on: December 05, 2008 12:53:02 PM
i'm not sure if this is a total disaster or not!?!  This is my very first quilt.  I don't read instructions on how to do things, so I just plunged in head first.  There are a few gals in my knitting circle who have talked about their quiting projects and i asked enough questions to get started at least.  I've only finihsed the top part and am now going to do a bit of research on what comes next.  i know there is a backing i have to do and some edging.  of course there is also the quilting process it'self which makes me a bit nervous.  i am thinking of just following the outlines of the blocks so the quilting stitch is a big grid.  not too pretty but sounds easy enough to me.  this was supposed to be for my son's 2nd b-day, but that was 6 months ago, so now it's an xmas present hopefully!  any comments or suggestions??  i do love the fabrc, just not sure if it looks good together.  i didn't have an clue what it was going to look like, i bascally just started sewing blocks together after I'd completed them ..... hmmm.
