Details of swap:
Alright ladies and gentleman, this idea came up in the Zine Swap thread, each participant will create a page or two of our craft zine [more pages if needed but try to keep them under 3 or we'll have a book!] with a craft that they specialize in and mail it to me. I will put it together, add my own pages, make sure everything is in tact and have it copied [Strat_Sista has offered to copy the zine and do some mailing!] everyone will get copies of the zine to distribute as they wish! THIS ZINE WILL NOT BE A CRAFTSTER ZINE, Leah has already expressed her wishes not to do such a zine any time soon, this is more like our own little scrapbook zine. Which means we will also have to pick a name! ALSO we need a front and back cover for any artists, one person can do the art for the front and one for the back!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
Which crafts would you be willing to prepare a page on [please list as many as possible in the order you wish to do most to least because there will be duplicates!!]

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

43  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / The "Freddy" Sweater...help me! on: December 16, 2004 05:17:08 PM
So my friend Ryan asked me to knit him a sweater. It won't be for a bit as I'm still a newbie and want to get the basics down a little more before I try a sweater BUT he wants the original Freddy Krueger sweater with the stripes only on the body, not the sleeves [the old school horror freaks know what I mean!] anyone have either a good standard pattern that I could alter to add the stripes, or has anyone ever attempted this before??

45  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Altoids Tin of Love! on: November 30, 2004 03:24:43 PM
I got this from the newest issue of BUST, it's still a work in progress, I'm working on it bit by bit and taking my time picking the perfect pieces for it. I'm making it for my fiance for christmas for his stocking. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I'm hoping Santa will bring me a better digicam!

The outside, I cut the heart out with a lot of struggling because I don't have tin snips...don't even ask, it wasn't pretty.

Opened, I added the extra flap there so the picture would show through the heart and so I could put something else on the other side of the paper.

Opened all the way. I glued fake mini roses in the tin to pretty it up. I took some thick decorative paper I got in the scrapbooking section of AC Moore and accordian folded it, then printed a few pics of us on cardstock from my computer and glued them in.

There's the mini photo album opened.

Tips for anyone attempting this:

1- Burning an altoids tin stinks. Not horribly, but open a window and DONT do it when you know the person you're making it for will be home soon. They WILL get suspicious.
2- Eat or hide the altoids...again, they get suspicious.
3- If you cool the tin by running it under water, dry dry dry that thing, I ended up with rust because the tin wasn't as dry as I thought. Use a blowdryer or something if need be!

I will post the final product when I'm done!
